My son is searching for a PS2 gaming system and I am hesitant to have him purchase a used system. If anyone knows of any current store deals out there I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

i dont know about the console, but one of the futureshop over here has uber cheap games. rockband and band hero type games is only $30 for the complete set.

sometimes superstore has the old consoles, you could try asking the staff!

sorry not sure of any deals but i would not recommened buying a used ps2 system they really do tend to break very often trust me i've been through 4-5 systems in the last 2 years alone some don't even work right out of the box

My kids have had both ps2 and ps3. I think we bought the ps2 used from EB Games (they buy and sell new/used systems and games). They gave us a warranty on the ps2 machine, not that we needed it. The ps3 is a pretty cool machine though. Much more versatile than the ps2. Is there a store like this in your neighborhood?

Personally I would go for a used one as you can get an amazing deal. I know this because my son stopped using his PS2 and has decided to put it up for sale with about 30 or so games including Guitar Hero. He did some research about pricing and will put it up for a reasonable amount.
I am not trying to do a sales job here but I know that his stuff is in superb shape and a lot of the games have not been used much. So for a very small investment, you can get a system and a lot of games. You may also find that your son will get sick of it quickly too and then it has not cost much.

I would go 4 a used system. I bought a ps2 at a garage sale with a controller, 3 games - $5
check garage sales! I also got a gamecube 4 that price!
