Lynnie;
Sometimes these things happen and then the next time we go out we find bargains and have a bit of luck. My SDM can be very weird with coupons too, I have learned if it isn't the price I want to leave it at the till. (Thanks to a few expensive lessons I've learned
You still did get some great deals and should be very proud of what an amazing shopper you are. In a few years you will have saved thousands thanks to your coupon skills.

So what does your receipt say, as far as points?

I too am still learning about couponing, but one thing I do know, sometimes the cashiers don't understand the policy of coupons. Don't be discouraged. Coupons CAN and DO save a lot of money!!!

Just sent you a PM. Cashiers can be morons sometimes, and I say you deserve a complete refund if you were using the right coupons.
Argh, SDM can tick me off!!

The bad ones are a p.i.t.a, the good ones are worth their weight in gold.
And there are many good ones out there... certain stores where I am a regular we are on a first name basis and I make a point of going to a certain cashier's lane because I know he/she is really nice and doesn't hassle me about using coupons and/or using coupons on sale items.

sorry that happened! you just have to find a better cashier or diff location. i find sdm's are a hit and miss. and i totally know what you mean about parents telling you not to waste time on coupons and focus on school. been there, done that! lol. just keep doing it, it was a stress reliever for me!

lynnie, when shopping at SDM it takes alot of time planning what products to buy with what coupons to make the $50. Some of their stuff is really overpriced, even with the coupon. You can always refund your purchase, or next time just take more time to figure everything out. Sorry you had to go through all that. Just make sure next time you pic the right cashier at the right location

Sorry that happened

a cashier at sdm (bloor/spadina area) did the whole 1 per purchase thing to me too.
this is actually why i don't collect optimum points. i know i know.. i could have gotten tons of free stuff by now. but sdm is so overpriced. i really don't want an excuse to shop there. and the whole thing about total after coupons before tax is so stupid. why do they care if i used coupons. they get the money back!
when they do the spend $50 get a $10 card, i realize that i could have saved $10 shopping at walmart.

completely agree... i find shoppers kind of pricy... walmart is where its at.. completely agree with most on here though, you should have been able to use 1 coupon per product. If that was me i would have said either rind out all the coupons or we will be here a while doing x number of transactios
