This is just too funny. I once bought a pack of pork chop and had a cashier asked me what do I "usually" do with it ? Are those artifical colouring or they are real blood ? At first, I couldn't quite make out what she was trying to say, it didn't sound like a "normal" human being would say something like that. I was afraid to answer, I thought I might be on candid camera or something and ppl trying to get me to say something stupid.

I just looked up the coupon and it does say "any variety of lettuce." The real irony is that there's a recipe for Caesar salad (with Romaine) attached.

ok...that truly boggles my mind. Romaine isn't lettuce? That cashier wins first prize for SC's funniest coupon stories.(Hopefully you'll find it funny too...just maybe not today when the frustration is fresh...but in a year from now).

It's just a sad state of ignorance...but you could easily have proven your point if only you'd brought along a seed packet of romaine lettuce, a dictionary, other flyers, etc.
Just kidding, of course. Thanks for the post; it provided us all with many bursts of laughter. Are you going back?

Will go back as this store is close by and has some great products but will definitely avoid this cashier in the future. Have found that the younger cashiers at this store are a lot better than the older ones. Hate to say this as I am not that young (even though I feel like it).
