That is so judgemental. She probably had a long day and/or just isn't a huge salad person. You know, post-secondary education is extremely expensive, so she's probably working there to pay for it!
Anyway, it is pretty funny that she argued with you on that. When I was a cashier I didn't even bother, way too exhausting, and people were just too rude to deal with

This is ridiculous but hilarious at the same time. I'm not sure what world she lives in but romaine is definitely a type of lettuce. I hope you speak with a supervisor or manager about this. Ask them the same question you asked to that cashier. Maybe she'll get a good lecture from his/her boss.
