Went to Sears today because they were having a 50% off the lowest clearance price sale on. Bought some nice clothing ..... But - my BEST buy was a new suitcase.

We are going on vacation this fall - for 23 days. Found out that the largest suitcase that we can take on the plane is 62" total and 50 lb. weight.

My suitcase is quite battered and the zipper is about to give out but suitcases are expensive.

Found one - originally $469.99 - on clearance for $164.99 with 50% off
$82.50 - we paid almost that for a carry on last year
and it's exactly the right size - 61" total. And it's a Samsonite with a 10 year warranty.

This is great! oops got to go the thunder is rolling!

Wow! What a great deal. Sears has some nice quality stuff and when you can get it at a low price, it's even more fantastic. Good for you!

I found out about that Sears sale too late. I would've loved to have gone. My sister-in-law was telling me this afternoon about all the stuff she got at the sale--in fact, she's already done ALL the back to school shopping for her kids this wk-end and got them some add'l summer stuff that was on clearance just because it was so cheap, why not? I was green with envy and mad at myself for missing it.
