Hi there!
I don't own a car, so I rent them on a fairly regular basis.
At least where I am in NS, many rental companies will not rent you a vehicle to go into the US.
As for coupons and deals, for our weekend rentals anyhow, often the coupon deals are not as good as what you can get with a weekend special, etc. And I've found that renting a car for five days can be cheaper than renting one for four!

you don't say where you are from, but almost all major agencies (hertz, avis) here allow their cars to go into the US.

Hmmn in Vegas we rented a car for 4 days for 100 bucks with tax plus insurance total.. so like 25 a day.
Just call around and ask.

We rented one from Enterprise. If you have an Aeroplan card they give you something great like 40% discount. At the time I didn't have one but the lady gave me the discount anyway.
