Skype to/from the US?

Hi everyone...I'm hoping someone can assist here - the BF is away in the US for a month and wants to be able to call me. He is with TELUS and wants to use a local Skype number from where he is.

Has anyone used Skype from the US to call Canada?

Thanks very much...their website couldn't answer my question (or I don't know how to phrase it to get the right results, LOL).

Yes, DH and I used to use exclusively when he was away for work. It was really cheap $3.99ish a month, and it was unlimited calling to Canada & the US. I would text message him to call me, and he would use Skype to initiate the call since there was no point in me paying for the call when we were paying the $3.99 for Skype. We still use Skype to talk to my inlaws and webcam with them, since they are in Vancouver and we're in Edmonton, and they want to see their Grandson grow up. We love Skype!

I've Skyped with my brother in California and a friend in Toronto, it works great. My bro doesn't have a webcam, but he can still hear us. I've never used it with a cell though.

Use it with canada to Oz--with rogers cell

Skype is amazing. My hubby and I run a website and most of our clients are in the US.

Phone quality is OK but depends on Internet connection.

It does drop calls a lot ...on the cell networks
