After fully inserting a flat tool as pictured here, move it to either side of the container. Pulling up on the tool will cause the Lysol Healthy Touch refill lid to pop off.

The thin plastic which holds the Lysol Healthy Touch refill lid in place can be easily damaged during this process. This design makes refilling more than once unsafe.

If the lid does not snap on securely it will leak and may damage your Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System. Recycle the container and buy a new Lysol Healthy Touch refill

Before locking the refill in place inside the Lysol No-Touch, always hold the refill upside down for a few minutes to ensure that it is not leaking.

Thank you for the great tip. I was not going to spend 5.00 on a refill either.

I just refilled mine again after discovering this 2 months ago.....no problems with it leaking. I'm considering buying another unit, with a coupon of course!

Thanks for the post and the bump! I missed this the first time around. I refused to buy the machine knowing the refills were so expensive - anyone know of any sales/cheapest place to buy it?

love the idea of cutting a small hole at the bottom as it has to be put in up side down anyways! very very smart. Love you guys. Now I am going to look for it on sale to get 2 for my bathroom. Have not get one yet because of refusing to pay for the refill. Now the problem solved, ha ha! here i come.

My trick to open it... the same as for my siffer wetjet bottles, put the bottle in boiling water for about 10 seconds and voila it opens up like magic... LOL
