Medicinal Plants in Nature hopes to become a repository of pictures detailing powerful medicines plants growing wild in the great outdoors. The web challenge is designed to showcase these celebrity species in their native habitats.

Botanical Photography is the discipline of depicting plants and flowers accurately with respect to their form and color. Photographers are asked to document each specimen's name, habitat and function in the 140 character caption that accompanies each photo.


Successful botanical photographers are both artists and scientists; they require diverse skills including a detailed knowledge of plants, and a keen eye for composing balanced pictures. Contest open to all Canadians (excluding residents of Quebec) and photos from vacations all over the world are welcome.
