Here in Northern Ontario, fresh veggies aren't as plentiful, but if you look around, you can try and to buy some local products such as cheese, meat, dairy, eggs etc.

I buy all our pork and beef from a farmer an hour away and the best thing is she delivers!

Gotta love fresh food! I would love to try the 100 mile diet, but not sure if I am in the right locale at the moment Maybe some day!

Great brag as always Patty! Love the cabbages, planning on making cabbage rolls?
Oh and another thing to do with eggplant is pickle it, like the Italians do! It's called melezane and it's super good!

If you do the 100 mile challenge, I hope you like tree bark and weeds.

Do you work at the Ministry of Natural Resources? I did a bit of forest firefighting when I was 18 or 19.

I'm so happy to see fresh veegies like that (coupon are not all in our life )

This is what a bought all the time!
And I have farmer very closer from my house!!! Yep ! One is at 2km
I harvest a lot of stuff in mason jar for all year long
This is a big time of the year!!!
Everyday I can since august 15...

Next week I will start my italian tomato and do my pizza sauce, tomato sauce, tomato juice, seafood sauce, tomato pasta, etc!!! The price of tomato is good this year compared to last one (lot of producer lost their field last year, too much rain)... Usualy tomato is between 11$-20$ for 20Kg crate. This year we will be under 15$ for sure.

Thanks to share your pic with us Patty!!!

I freeze entire heads of cabbage for winter cabbage rolls. Just take out of freezer and thaw - ready to roll!
