I had the worst customer service ever yesterday. Does anyone have a link to write for a copy of LD' coupon policy.
I had no choice hubby got paid yesterday so I was waiting for his paycheck to use up some of my coupons ending on the 31st (plus I had just received some that morning) So I went to London Drugs on Flyer Day. It was a little busy for them meaning both customer clerks were working and 1 till. There was one person at the other customer service till a family at the the till and one person in line behind and me at customer service (no line when I walked up. I had 6 jugs of Arma and hammer 2 smoky shadow blasts and a box of advil.First the clerk was rude when I asked for a price match. (Just some background here I was extremely pleasant as I had just found out earlier the day that I had lost a few pounds and went down a whole clothing size I'm sure you can imagine how happy I was going in cloud 9!!) Ok back to the story She was rude with the price match then when I gave her the coupons she refused the smart source ones for not being manufacturer coupons she wouldn't listen when I explained where they came from even when I showed her how to tell they were manufacturer coupons(I work in a grocery store and deal with coupons which is how I started collecting in the first place I took the time to figure out where people got there coupons OOPs maybe not everyone was taught to listen when people talk to them)So rather than argue I asked for a supervisor who she paged (and supervisor never showed up) I FEEL IT IS IMPORTANT TO MENTION I WAS AT CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS WAS NOT A NEW CLERK! Then right infront of me she talked about couponers as if we were a different class of people . About how we had all been told not to come on Flyer days (not sure if that puts us above or below Lepers) but, how we would probably be there because of expiry day. This was at 2 in the afternoon. My boss would kick my butt if I told a customer with coupons or otherwise not to come on a certain day. She also told me I should have planned better so that I didnt have to use my coupons on the expiry day (WOW YEAH SHE ACTUALLY TOLD ME HOW TO CONDUCT MY PERSONAL AFFAIRS) Then she told me she couldnt use the coupon book with coupons but she would do me a favour..WELL there advertised price for the ADVIL was 5.99 but that was with the coupon book.I was like well you have an advertised price of 5.99 and I can't have that because I am using coupons I have to pay extra to use my coupons that doesnt make sense especially as you do accept stacking. trying to make the long story short customer service in Medicine Hat cost the company a customer... Oh I will coupon there but, as of this morning all my families prescriptions are going elsewhere and we will not buy anything without a coupon stack there. This thread is currently associated with: London Drugs, Smart Source

This is a copy of the email I received from LD HO regarding their policy. If you email them they will send you a copy too.
Dear XXXX:
This is a follow up to the email I sent you in regard to your service complaint at the Cloverdale location.
Below I have outlined our coupon policy for you and I hope this information is helpful for any future visits to the store.
Chapter 7: COUPONS
Coupon Policies
The following coupons may be accepted at London Drugs:
• Manufacturer’s standard coupons
• Manufacturer’s coupons exclusive to London Drugs
• London Drugs issued coupons
• Internet coupons under $2.00
Number of coupons accepted:
• More than one coupon may be accepted for a product, if each coupon comes from a different media source. The different media sources may include coupons from a newspaper, magazine, internet, bottle caps or in-store manufacturer’s exclusive coupons.
• The following limitations printed on a coupon would prevent a customer from using multiple coupons:
• Not to be used in conjunction with other coupons
• Not to be used with other offers
• No coupon stacking allowed
• If the coupons combined value exceeds the price of the product, process the last coupon for the remaining amount to not exceed the value of the product.
• UPC Code: Most coupons are printed with a UPC code which is used as a means for the manufacturer to track where the coupon was from. If two coupons look the same but have different UPC’s, they are considered different coupons as long as other limitations are not printed on the coupon. i.e. not to be used with other coupons, no coupon stacking allowed etc.
Once again please don’t hesitate to contact us at anytime if you require assistance.

I hate it when that kind of thing happens! I am not sure why some customer service people are in such bad moods, but it sure ruins things for their customers! Hopefully this won't happen again.

i actually call ahead to my local london drugs to see who is working, as i like to avoid some people, as issues like this are bad, plus it gives them a heads up, and they start taking breaks so they can have more people on tills if needed

op sorry this happened, its never fun to be talked down to

My LD is really great. The only rule they all have is that we don't go on the flyer day because they are so busy...I made that mistake when i first started stacking. The cashier was really nice and told me nicely that next time try not to come on the first day the flyer is out.

That's awful! I would be upset too ...what an outrageous example of "service".
My London Drugs is great but there are a couple of cashiers that don't have a clue (so I avoid them like the plague) I strongly suggest filling out a customer comments card, (HONESTLY), available at the customer service desk. I have done this 3 or 4 times in the last 10 months and every single time, I have rec'd a phone call from head office about it. My experience has been that they are always glad to hear what they can do to improve their service. The store I shop at went from having 1 salesperson who understood coupons, to 5 who are just awesome. It was tough in the beginning, but they whipped a few more of their reps into shape. I LOVE going there now and shopping. Couldn't hurt to try ....
Remember, LD can't fix a problem they don't know about
**I have recently moved, so please double check the addy before sending coupons! Thanks =)

I had an experience like this the other night and she was so rude that I actually burst into tears! It was about 9 pm...so not that many people in the store and still an hour till closing and she said it was to late to call each and every store to price match so no go. I told her that I was suprised as this has not happened before but if it was an issue I would pull out any items that she could not get a hold of the store... Then she swore and got all flustered. I gave her the stuff that was at LD prices and the coupons and every coupon she would say "this is just ridiculous" "OMG" "ridiculous".
The manager came over and saw I was agitated and he started talking to her to see what was up and she started talking about how ridiculous it was that I had coupons etc and was trying to price match (i am super organized and it normally takes me a few minutes extra than if you were to go through the till). She started getting upset with the manager because he was telling her to just do it and thats when she started in with the bad language. Thats when I burst into tears and she was like "Whats the issue NOW?" and I told her to forget it and that I didn't appreciate being made to feel like a second class citizen because I was watching my budget. The Manager stepped in and everything was fine after that!
But a totally humiliating experience in all! VERY UPSETTING!

I went to the medicine hat LD for my first try at stacking earlier this year, and the customer service was awesome. She herself was a couponer. I think your cashier was just having a bad day. I dealt with an older lady that was soo nice, told me to come back with more coupons, and told me her shifts for the week. Walked out of there with bags of tax only stuff, and she even bragged to the next customer what I paid.

Couponfreak, I'm sorry that you had that experience. I hate when things like that happen. I hope that writing it all down was cathartic for you and you can forget about it now and be absolutely thrilled and excited about your weight loss!! Yahoo!! for you, how did you do it?

But if you go on some other day usually most of their stuff is out of stock as they don't stock much in the first place , especially the hot coupon stackable items .
They are not a very big store & unlike other department stores they don't carry a huge inventory & are a bit slow to re stock their shelves .

Don't take it personally ..these things happen , its not your fault that you got a crappy cashier .
Yes its their policy to check if the other store has it in stock or not , but usually they don't care & don't bother calling , if you just show them the other store flyer most cashiers will just PM based on the ad without bothering to call the other ( competitor ) store .
Don't let this awful experience stop you from saving money & stacking @ LD in future ..usually most people are just jealous when they see others saving money as more often than not they can't do it themselves
