Well, a t-shirt or button might just help. I went to the Zellers restaurent just recently to cash in on the Free Entree Coupon. The waitress checked my coupon 4 different times, though I made a point of asking immediately at the counter if they honoured the coupon. She just kept harassing me about it; even after I sat down, she was there twice to check it again with the other customers staring at me. She just kept taking it away and bringing it back to me; finally she brought my little dish of Sweet Potato Fries. When it came time to take the coupon to the check-out counter, the clerk was very rude, grabbed it out of my hand, wouldn't speak to me except to say "yeah!", wouldn't say please or thanks or another word. Just a surly expression which seemed put on to make me feel like 2 cents for using a coupon in their lunchroom.

Well 'lekate', 8 years is a long time to be a cashier, and your remarks are honest, and come from your point-of-view. I've stood behind my Farmer's Market baked-good stand for 5 summers, and I know how customers can be. One person came along one time and suddenly flew into a loud tirade at me for using canned cherry pie filling in my cherry pies; said I should buy the cherries, take out the pits, cook them and make my own filling. I'm standing there silently trying to sell a variety of large $5 homemade pies, after slaving 18 hours over a hot stove the day and night before. Customers can be "the pits" at times.
