    As the hostess for my playdate group, I wanted to see how I could manage to get gifts for all of the 13 RSVP'd kids (ages 2 months to 3.5 years) as well as door prizes for the moms and food/drinks without spending a fortune.
    By searching through flyers, watching for sales, using coupons, stacking, and price matching I was able to get all the gifts for under $50. They would have retailed for over $250 for the non-Smart Canuck crowd!

    For the kids I got:
    Six 10-piece sand/water toys in a wagon
    One Memory game
    One Candyland game
    One Precious Moments gift treasury book
    Three 17-piece Playskool magic tea party sets
    One Leap Frog toy (in French)

    For the door prizes I got:
    Dove body wash
    Windriver water bottle
    Febreeze candle
    Glade scented oil candle
    Glade tin and glade ultra
    Celestial seasonings tea
    Body butter

    Gifts for 13 kids: $39
    Door prizes: $8
    Cost of food and drinks for all: $20
    Visit from Santa: free (thanks Dad!)
    A great Children's Christmas party: PRICELESS!

    I am sure that fun was had by all. I hosted a toddler Christmas party lasy year and had a hoot. Now I am regreting not doing it this year!
