, if you have an Optimum MC you can buy and charge 10 x $10 GCs and get 500 bonus points for each gift card and use them to buy the perfume sampler. That = 5000 bonus points that will show up on your statement in early Jan. This promo is on the back of their red Christmas gift booklet. It ends Dec 2).
Don't forget to buy enough GCs to cover the taxes

Beware about the 500 bonus points that you are supposed to get for the Top 10 Gifts at SDM. I have read the fine print that each Optimum account will only get awarded 500 bonus points no matter how many of those Top 10 Gifts are purchased. We won't know until January 8th I guess, but don't get sucked in too easily.

Well I just went yeaterday and bought $100 in gift cards for the DD for christmas. I talked her into the SDM GC. LOL She wants to buy a DSI and they sell them there for the same price as other places. So when she gets the rest of her Christmas money I am going to get her to buy more GC's to get the points and then she can get her DSI.
Thanks for the tips! I hope to be able to spend my points this time next year!! I now have $25 in the points bank. LOL

I always save my FPC for SDM 20X events, and other large value coupons (like the $5 off Motrin) It adds up in a real hurry.
I built up a lot of points when they had the Esso gift card offer (I got HBC and Sears gift cards from Esso!)
I did all of my X-mas shopping at SDM during the $200 REDEMPTION day (redemed $1200 worth- and I've just been a member for a little over a year with one previous redemption of $300)

Stuffedpandapuppet, can you tell me where you saw this fine print?
I called SDM before I bought a bunch for the points promo a a couple of weekends ago and was told yes, I would get 500 per GC I purchased.

ETA, I also asked the head cashier and she was unaware of the offer until I pointed it out. But she said if there were limits, it would have been listed in the gift brochure.Last edited by Silk; Wed, Dec 16th, 2009 at 03:44 PM.

Hmm I guess I didn't read it in the fine print (just re-read that gifts catalog), I thought I did, sorry about that. But this is where I got that impression, from the SDM get 500 bonus points on Top 10 gift when use Shoppers MasterCard (Updated!!): http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/112527-...ated-canada-3/
Because from the sound of it, a lot of the customer service reps really didn't know about it, or evaded answering the question.

you get points when using a free product coupon??
I used one and they ring it in as the 2002 free product code (no taxes), but also no points either?
