it's true jenn. and the worst thing you can do to a kid with issues, is to add to it. with ryan parents panicked and got riled up. they were (understandably) upset, and did not have the knowledge of what was going on to have a postive influence instead of a negative one. they actually ended up making things worse.
at the new school, the teachers approached him as if they had no prior knowledge of his past, they acted completely unbiased. the kids knew nothing of him, so he was treated like any other kid right off. which is what helped turn him around. and the IPP helped to work around his problem areas. he did not have to line up with the rest of them , went to school later/earlier than the rest, had epa that could remove him from class if he became agitated.
as his first epa/resource teacher said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. the school board snatched her out of his old school and sent her to his new one to be with him. her and his gym teacher (who went to both schools) were the familar support he needed to adjust.
i'm so proud of our new school. i just love them to death

sorry to hear about Ryan, NS! My boy has a hard time at school. he's had to have extra help hs whole life at school, and he gets frustrated so easily. some kids are always picking on him. last year, in gym class, a couple of boys pushed him behind the stairs to the stage and wouldn't let him out. other kids laughed and apparently the teacher was in the area and didn't do anything! i ended up having meetings with the principal, but they didn't do much of anything except talk to the kids. so far this year is going a lot better and he is getting involved in sports after school(so i hope it doesn't start up again!)
i hope ryan is ok!!

I think you son is cute, makes me wish I was his age. LOL I sure hope you win. Been voting for you since before we knew you on here.
Ya, supposed to make it thicker. I have a spot in front that I have to hide. I can only part my hair from left to right, or you can see the bald spot. Oh well, I guess I'll have to look for a man that likes bald women.
Thanks, I didn't know this. I learnt something new today, the day has not been a complete loss!
I voted again this morning and I got points for the voting. I just made sure that I got this hours words in first.
I have been voting too. I couldn't vote last night, had to go to the meet the teachers meeting at the school.
I have no idea what they where talking about in the general meeting (all in French, and my translater left early)
There was a met the teacher before the meeting and one after. You go to the class and they tell you what they will be doing this year. Again all in French, but they know I don't speak French and I understand only some of it, so they talk to me later in English to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I go because I think it is important for the teacher to know that even though I don't speak French I am interested in what the kids are doing. In the 8 yrs that the DD has been in school (Jk to gr6) the EX hass never been to a meet the teacher night. He only goes to the meeting after the first report cards come out.
Give Ryan a big HUG and KISS from me. Poor baby, no kid should have to deal with bullies.
Did you suggest to the principal that they should be holding a course on bully. I got a freebie a while back called "Don't laugh at me". We had some bully at Cubs last year, and I am giving this to them some they can run a meeting or two on it.
I think at the begining of every school year they should go though the rules and what not with the kids. They need to let the kids know that it will not be tolerated.
Everyone can join. Just like NS sid make sure she uses the referall link. I won't want NS to miss out on 50 cent.
OK so now I am off to do some more voting. I don't bother with coments, oncw I get my points. I don't have time at work for that.
HUGS all and have a good day.

In past contests, they have told me that any votes made after the cutoff will not actually count for the contest. I'm not sure about this one though.
Dang, it's taking me forever to type! LOL I'm on my new laptop, and not used to the keyboard yet.
NS - sorry to hear about your son. Prayers and hugs for him today from Arkansas, USA!!!!
Off to shower and then go deliver Avon all day. See ya all tonight!
