I think it was SMB that said she had received the 1000 pts for entering the picture. I could be wrong but something tells me it was her.

LadyLady,

I am SO sorry to hear of the fire :( There are no words I can find to alleviate some of the pain and sadness you are feeling. I pray you find strength to help your family move on and I hope they will soon heal from all this. It's devestating and I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. Thank GOD they will be okay though. Please know that you will all be kept in my thoughts and prayers. Please try to come visit us every once in a while :) Huge hugsssssss to you :)

Definitely. I send a Xmas photo of them out with the cards I send.

The poor dog's been putting up with me for 5 years, the kitty's had 1 Xmas and this is his second Halloween.

Don't feel too sorry for them - they get plenty of treats to put up with me. Of course, according to the cat, it's never enough. Trust me to have a cat who thinks he's a bottomless pit of a Labrador Retriever. :lolsign:

I know the important thing is that everyone is OK, but still....all the memories gone. Maybe I fear it so much because that's all I have left of my family, just pictures and things they had given to me.
What things are they most upset about losing? I would be willing to help a little in trying to replace it. Like a little money to get copies of pictures, etc. Please let me know. I am willing, not just making a kind gesture!!

WHEW home from shopping with my daughter lol she wore me out! We took in a bunch of books and got $99 in trade for them was so shocked :eek: but lol she managed to find enough books to cover the whole $99. Had to pay $12 for a couple that were no trade and you have to pay .25 cents a book but that isn't bad at all to get 3 bages stuffed full of books! Took an hour and a half tho so lol I was exhausted.

ladylady will pray for your family, hope the burns and the stress this has caused them heals rapidly. If any of them have any problems with nightmares and adjusting after please take them in to the doctor. After Katrina my husband suffered from PTSS (post traumatic stress syn.) and refused to get help for a year. For a year he didn't sleep well and when he did he had nightmares. I finally got him to go see a doctor who gave him some medicine that helped him sleep and with the depression I just wish he would of agreed to go sooner and wouldn't of had to suffer so long. The hurricanes this season have caused some sleepless nights so it takes years. Each person deals with things differently but if any of them show signs of depression or trouble sleeping I would recommend not waiting to get them some help. If there is anything you need please don't hesitate to leave a message and if I have them I'll send them. huggggggs

I noticed that I was now getting credit for 10, but didn't see the announcement. I was actually coming on here now to post about it!

OK everyone, I did a little fun math, and this is what I came up with....

POINT POTENTIAL
51 entries in costume contest and 5 in bellypainting(that one is messed up now...the earth one disappeared when the new one was added)

56x50 pt=2800 points per hour
2800x24 hours in the day=67,200 points per day
10 comments in one contest and 5 in the other per day...
15x50=750 points

That is 67,950 points per day!!

Let's say it lasts 30 days, but we know they never close them on time....
67,950x30=2,038,500 points!!!!

So anyway, you know what I'll be doing until this contest is over!! I've shown my friend how to do it and my son. Still gonna show my daughter. That way, when I'm working, cooking, etc..they can still be voting!

I'm gonna get that Wii for Christmas!!!!:top:

...just praying that they don't change things! In less than 2 days that I have been voting, I have racked up over 60,000 points!!!!!

Oh man, I'm so sad right now. I was home a bit ago and I received a call from one of my veteran clients, the 83 year old one. He told me to get there right away. I asked what was wrong and he said he didn't know. I yelled to my husband to put his coat on quickly as we were heading up the hill to my clients house. When we walked in, my client was knelt down holding his 90 year old wife in his arms to support her upper body. She was sitting in her chair. She had a big stroke and has paralysis on the entire right side of her body. She was responsive and coherant but not able to speak and was drooling. She seemed extremely confused and it was SO sad to watch. I asked if he had been able to call 911 yet and he said no. He started to cry so while I was on the phone with 911, I was also trying to console him and her at the same time. My husband kept reassuring them both things would be okay. I had my husband call their son to have him come over right away and then I called the family doctor and asked if he could please come over right away. I then called one of their daughters to have her come over right away. We stayed till all the family was there and the paramedics had loaded my client's wife into the ambulance. It's so sad. We know and realize that it's going to happen. We knoow that one day, very soon, we will get up in the morning and she will be gone. That day may be sooner than we think. I am SO glad I was able to be there for my client during this difficult time. I am not sure why he chose to call me first instead of his kids, perhaps because he knows that I'm not afraid of these situations and can handle the stress of it as I used to be a 911 operator and police dispatcher.

Anyways, sorry for rambling on, just had to get it off my chest....there's enough weight there already!

Thanks for listenning. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send positive vibes our way. I realize that she's 90 but we're just not ready to part with her yet.
