I am really happy to say that I have collected tons of free (cheap) items that I would like to donate, only problem is I am not sure where to donate it too.
I have enough items for about 20 people, both men and women and would like a place that caters to both sexes if possible.
Items I have:
approx. 24 Dove body wash
approx. 20 gillette body wash
approx. 25 deoderant (about 1/2 and 1/2)
6 pkgs of coffee
dozen shavers - expensive type
small tolietrees
few bottles of detergeant - washing clothes
pasta/sause/canned food
Does anyone know a place that could use this? I don't want to donate to one that gets government assistance/ nor a place too large.
Thank you! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I always give personal hygeine type stuff to the Elizabeth Fry Society. They are always very happy and grateful to accept these items. (Unlike other places I've gone where they act like they're doing me a favour by taking it off my hands....) I go to the one in Barrie but I see Ottawa has one too.

I've also been looking. I have 6 women's and 6 men's bags prepared. I just called the Interval House (in Brockville, an hour away). They are a shelter for abused women. They have 10 beds and can hold up to 13. They seem very appreciative of any donation. I'll be taking my women's things on Saturday (they're open 24/7). Now I feel bad, wish I had 4 or 5 more bags… Maybe I'll just take some of my random items, not enough to make full bags, but extra deodorant and body wash…
She said they are pretty much always full…. so sad

Have you thought of old age homes? People there are living off of pensions, so getting these items will be a treat. Maybe even make them in 'baskets' to give as gifts.

That can probably be given to the Food Bank.

Maybe cheaper/better is to just drop it off in one of the donation bins at the grocery stores...Food Basics maybe best.
