Question to the mommies...

Do you guys get worse mood swings during your monthly period after giving birth?

I find that my monthly PMS mood swings are very wild ever since I gave birth... I feel very ragey and just want the whole world to go to hell during my monthly... Is this normal?

Is there no way of managing and controlling these horrible mood swings?

I feel awful screaming at Ethan the last 2 days... He's only a baby!

Yes, yes, and yes! First of all, get your hormone levels tested - it's a blood test - then your gynie will see what's best to do from there if something is off-kilter.
As for how to deal with them for now - some tea to pacify you! Plus - make sure your husband knows exactly what is going on - so he can take over if/when you need a break - to do something, or to do nothing - like read in bed for hours on end... whatever works for you.

I will make an appointment with my family doctor tomorrow and discuss getting my hormone levels checked, especially closer to TOM (time of month)...

I do not like the uncontrollable part. Now that I am more calmed down (as TOM is saying bye to me till next month), and I reflect on what has trespassed, I have to say I am a little fearful of the ragey me.

I had no idea that I am capable of such rage, and I am ashamed to admit that I am a bully... I took my rage out by yelling at a helpless innocent infant! *sigh* Poor Ethan... I just hope he won't remember the crazy me...

I guess I need to smooch that awful memory away...

And, no, he won't remember these things, so don't worry about that...
For me, it happened when Milan was older, so he remembers me throwing plates at George and throwing a full pot of chicken soup out the back door, onto the patio.
Yes, that was ME - happy, fun ME - very odd!
This was not a mother or wife either signed up for - and it took me a while to realize that it was something that could be 'fixed' - it wasn't 'just me'...

BTW, what the heck are you doing up so late?
I wasn't feeling good at suppertime, so laid down to listen to the radio, George came to see if I was okay, he fell asleep - and there went our evening. I got out of bed around 10:30, watched some tv - and now that it's 1 a.m., I'm going to try to sleep again.
Milan had to work the evening today, doing some jackhammering or something (?), and when my husband found out he was working alone - he went to help him out. They work for the same company.
