inline page links such as this which are referred to companys and their products is done for an income.

companys will pay sites like this and many other types to direct traffic

a common practice for income on a website...but deceptive as your not told about it.

but I don't know if this is the case...I'm sure staff will give the nod either way.

the light blue links are links to the stores as mullin mentioned.

the darker blue ("thread is currently associated with...") appears on the bottom of everyone's threads. it's there to "tag" the nature of your post with a specific retailer or brand, making it easier to search. in your case there's no "readers digest" selection but if you were making a post regarding a deal at chapters, for example, you could select chapters from the dropdown list, click "add" and your post would be tagged with the relevant info.

you can also add your own tags by clicking "edit tags" under your post or under the text box where you create/edit a post. hope that helps, sparkie. welcome to smartcanucks!

thats just the tagging for the stores actually thats it. Not sure why they all showed up on your post though.
