ExpiredGood afternoon!
I have been a reader of SC for about a year now, but haven't joined or posted until today.
I was in vacation in Niagara Falls over the new year, and won $350 at the casino. Of course, I went shopping with most of the money at the outlet malls and I have about $120 left over.
I'm currently a Shoppers Optimum member with $75 worth of points, and I was looking at buying a Nintendo Wii with these points and the money I have left over from the casino. Problem #1, however, is that not a lot of SDMs have Wiis in stock at all right now.
Does anyone know of any other places that have Wiis for a good price (I know they really don't go on sale at all...), or does anyone have any knowledge of SDM's upcoming deals (redemption days, etc)?
Thanks so much

There are $5 and $10 coupons out there for Nintendo products. They are from the back of cereal boxes. That would help a little if you had one.I have been looking for some of these coupons to trade if anyone has some to spare please PM me.

SDC has the Refer-A-Friend event next week (Jan 11-13):
http://smartcanucks.ca/shoppers-drug...an-11-13-2010/
I don't think that's quite what you're looking for, but if you were willing to wait a week and got some friends to sign up too you could get up to $150 worth of points and would probably be able to find Wiis in stock at SDC again.

I'd keep looking for a SDM that has one, because this weekend is 15x the points, so on that $199 purchase you'd get enough points to buy some games and/or accessories to go with the game

I looked for the answer on the SDM website, but I can't quite figure it out.
If I were to buy a Wii for $220, that would give me 2,200 points. Multiplied by 15 that brings it up to a total of 33,000 points. Added to my existing 41,500 points that brings it to 74,500 points (almost the $100 level).
Say I buy a game or something to get the extra 500 points to bring myself to the $100 level, would I be able to USE that $100 redemption to get the Wii? Or does it have to be later, after the points are added?

You would not be able to use the points earned on the Wii purchase towards the Wii purchase. But those points will be applied to your account immediately after that transaction, so you can do another transaction and buy the accessories or games. BTW, 75000 points is worth $150 - not $100. Make sure you buy a gift card in the amount of $220 (plus tax) first and you will get another 2200 points. All in all you would need to do 3 transactions: 1 for the gift card, one for the Wii and one for the accessories. Alot of work, but worth it in the end.

I saw the wii at SDM last night for $219.99. I got mine with optimum points, it was a bonus redemption and we paid like $100 for it (after points).
