all these coupons are only for optimum plus members right? Has anyone used these successfully in the past even if they weren't mailed to you directly? (why do they not mail every plus member with these??)
also, can you combine coupons, like using the noir chocolates bonus 1000 points coupon together with and as part of the $50 min spend 10,000 points coupon?

Fantastic thanks!! And considering SDM is having 15x the points or 15% off this weekend, I think I know where I'll be camping out this week...lol

Great I keep hoping to do one of these but they seem to come out around 20x and Tell a Friend days. Maybe this time.

Here we go again.

Good questions. I seem to remember a lot of discussion about this and can't remember any clear conclusion. What the fine print says, what the staff or customer service people will tell you will happen and what their policy is... is often different than what their system will or can actually do. If these coupons were not mailed or emailed to you directly by SDM then use them at your own risk.
That being said, I know they work for me from direct experience, and I'm talking about using coupons like this that weren't sent to me by SDM but ones that I just copied off of a link like this posted on Smartcanucks. One poster suggested that any Optimum PLUS member can use these at least once during a certain period of time whether they came directly to you or not.
Note the printing on the different coupons. The 10,000 point one is valid to January 29 only and you won't see your points until February 15. The other four coupons are valid to Feb. 5 and you should see your points right away on your receipt. They all have "Optimum Plus" written on them so I presume they're for those members only. My guess is that you could use the Nestle Noir coupon at the same time as the 10,000 point coupon. There's nothing in the Nestle Noir coupon fine print that says it can't be used in combination with other points offers and the different coupons are processed differently.
Some posters said they used the 10,000 point coupon multiple times successfully in a period of time. Other posters said they couldn't even use it successfully once. Some people had to call SDM customer service when their points didn't show up by the proscribed date and get the points added manually while on the phone.
I usually max out on my budget by using the more straight forward bonus points events first. I'm talking about the events that are advertised in the flyer and are clearly for any and all Optimum members. I like to keep these printed coupons as extra or "plan B" in case I need to do some more shopping. I like clarity and these kinds of things drive me up the wall because I love getting the bonus points but I like to be sure about it.
BTW, my own rule of thumb for figuring out if the number of bonus points on a coupon is worthwhile is to presume I can get $2.61 of free stuff later on for each 1000 points. That's the best you can do in BC as a PLUS member redeeming at the maximum level on a Bonus Redemption Day. In provinces like Ontario, I would get $3.07 of free stuff for each 1000 points because the Bonus Redemption amounts are different.
I would encourage anyone who uses these coupons to report back to us about how they did. Which means we may have to wait until Feb. 15 to find out because that's when the 10,000 points are supposed to go into your account. That lag time has made it hard to figure out how well these work. Let us know:
-which coupon(s) did you use and were they used in combination with one another or other points deals?
-did you use coupons like this that were mailed or emailed directly to you by SDM?
-did you use these coupons printed off from the link above?
-did you use them more than once while they were valid?
-did you get your points as expected when expected, or did you have to call SDM and get them added?
-did you use money off coupons and did it affect your minimum spend required?
Thanks!
