I called and this offer is valid in Quebec as well!! Yay! I got the persons name I spoke with just in case ;) He said its a minimum of 2 GCs and for every multiple of $150 you get the 5000 points - even if they're in one transaction. He said its national program and points will be put in peoples accounts by Nov. 19 :) QUebec is often excluded from promos so I had to make sure to call and confirm before spending the money :)
Appearances can be misleading Zonny. Actually I am a Type 1 diabetic so I purchase about $1800 every 3 months on insulin, pump supplies and test strips - all over the counter so I get the points (insulin is one of the rare medicines that anyone can purchase without a precript) - I am fortunate enough to be redeemed by my drug benefit provider. I hate being attached to the pump, but very happy to get so many points that I can use - makes being a diabetic a little less painful I suppose.Quote:

Yikes, I am the one to apologize - zero offence taken. Getting juvenile diabetes at age 31 really sucks but I am in excellent health otherwise.
I count my blessings that I live in Ontario where the insulin pump and supplies (notwithstanding having a drug plan that covers the majority of the cost of the pump and supplies) are covered for both children and Type 1s. I would have been out of pocket a few $thousand otherwise.
I tell diabetics every chance I can (like my comments - that is me, always trying to educate) about the Optimum program so that they too can benefit.

Today I'm happy I got my regular points for buying SDM GCs again, so I guess it's the problem with some SDMs, like on the receipt (which I didn't get points for $150 GCs) there was x at the end of the line (means no points merchandise, similar when I buy stamps or bus tickets)!

I got $150 worth of non-SDM GCs today, the cashier was all like "Oh you don't get points for these". Then I pleaded that if she doesn't scan my Optimum card I won't get my bonus points next week, and I asked her to scan it anyway. Well, what do you know, she was surprised to see that I got 1500 regular points. :-) And I think I earned some karma points by telling the person in line behind me about this promo.
My 12 yr daughter was DX with type 1 last year... but she won't have anything to do with the pump. we couldn't afford it anyways. the sets etc are so much more money than syringes..

OMG I know why it didn't work for me, it was because I bought the SDM Gcs without the specific money on them, like it was custome made, I bought the first 150$ tonight (75+75 custom made), didn't get points , the second 150$ specific (100+50) and got 1500 points! I spoke to the manager and he said because you bought something different, so I can't give points for you! I'll have to call HO again tomorrow! Weird!

^^ Thanks for the reminder LOL. However I won't bank my money (or GC's :-)) on the word of one SDM CSR.
And I can't agree with you any more. Separate transactions = less hassles if they do deny you all the pts.
This promo potentially could reek like the "2X reg pts on Oct purchases" promo but with FAR more points at risk. I only bought 1 set of $150 GC's. Don't need the hassles. BTW... I still did NOT get any extra pts for any of my Oct purchases. What a PITA SDM is with these "non-automatic" pts promo.
I called HO this morning and they gave me points, can't be happier than this!
