Please Read If you are posting scanned images of coupons.
If anyone wishes to start a thread sharing pictures/scanned images of coupons they have found to share with other members It would be really appreciated ( a must) that you insert "VOID" across the coupon image. If you are unsure how to go about editing the image to write VOID please PM me and I would be happy to do the job for you.
Thanks! :-)
I'll try and put up a easy Paint tutorial which can help out people in inserting the VOID text on the image.
Thanks FP!

good idea, i noticed sometimes when people scan coupons they can be easily copied and printed out, then taken to a retailer, they accept it, get in trouble and tighten their coupon policies making it harder for us to use real actual coupons :(

No problem, I usually remember to put void or my username on them anyway

I dont see a reason for this procedure to not exist. You will still be able to see and read the coupon text so its not a huge inconvenience.
This is just a request. I realize It should have been implemented a long time ago but better late then never.

I have posted several coupons over the last few months.. my question to this, and not that I object is... All my images are posted in GIF format... which makes them really blurry, so the fine print is not readable... (I have really silly software)... is this good, or should I still be figuring out how to right VOID across them?

But usually when people scan their coupons .. only the front page is scanned .. they don't bother scanning the back page ..so its not that easy to just print it & pull of a scam .
Anyways most of these coupons are easily available in store & online like save.ca , brandsaver.ca , websaver.ca etc ... so the people who really want to scam can easily get these coupons & then scan them or print them if they want to commit a fraud .

Thanks for your help, trucks! :top:
I like clarity and this could go a long way to clearing away some of the fog. How about these images (below)? If you're willing to sacrifice () one copy of a coupon and just write VOID across it with a big marker. Or... just put a post-it over it.
I presume this will be sufficient to render the image unusable just in case anyone thought they could print the image and use it at a store.
But what about the logos and other copyrighted parts of the image?
Me too. Let's do everything we can to prevent coupon abuse because it affects all of us who use coupons.

There was an issue with scanned photos of coupons a few years ago (the Maple Leaf ones, I think it was 2008). I don't know how or where it started, but so many people got pissy because these "printed" coupons weren't actually supposed to be printables. And many retailers stopped taking printed coupons after this.

I've learned a few tricks but I'm still a computer dork at heart. So, for now, the easiest and fastest thing to do is to just use a post it.
BTW... nice After Eight coupie! I think I looked at After Eight displays in six different stores today and not one coupon on them!

Not sure, but I didn't post them because I thought I heard/saw someone talking about them so I figured they weren't new. I guess I should post them eh?

Ok I understand putting the void but can people put the void so the last 2 upc numbers are still visible for us stackers. I always liked being able to tell at a glance if there's a diff upc then I have, rather than PM'ing every time.

Void is a good idea! Rather be safe then have retail stores mad at homemade printed coupons and take our fun away. I love stacking and am very carefull not to lose this excellent program.

I don't know if I have the MS digial image thing in my computer.
I have already wasted one copy of the Smartsource flyer already to mark "VOID". For the P&G flyer, I just used post it note to cover the upc#.
Can someone post out how to put the VOID image on? Thanks ahead.

I agree, so I've decided for now to let the coupon UPC numbers be seen but I obscure the bar code. One of the reasons for posting a nice image of a coupon is so that you don't have to write out all the pertinent details. We must render them "safe", though. :-)

For those without MS paint...here is a basic but useful online photo editing website.
