using Sobeys B1G1 + coupons??

A few weeks ago Sobeys had a B1G1 sale on chicken nuggets. They did not have any in stock so I got a raincheck.
Today I went and got 2 packages and used 2 $1 off coupons. Should I been able to use the 2 coupons where I got one for free from Sobeys?
The cashier put it through and then proceeded to tell me how I got a deal I should not have gotten! Maybe I should not have?? She was not nice about it.

I used one coupon when Sobeys had a B1G1 on dog joint treats. But since I only purchased one, I only used one coupon. I didn't try to use two so I don't know how they would have responded to that.

I think you can do that. You did buy 2 items, meaning you can use the 2 coupons...

I used a coupon on a B1G1 sale last week at SOF--the coupon was "$0.75 WUB2".. so it included both items... even tho one was free... cashier didn't bat an eye, lol. I'm not sure where this really stands, officially. The store deal is just that... a store deal--they will get that "money back" for the free item (I think?)... as they will get their money back from the manufacture of thr coupon--you DID purchase two items... so I danno, haha!

I e-mailed Sobey's this morning since they have another B1G1 sale this week in Atlantic Canada. I guess I now have my answer directly from Sobeys about this question. Kind of ruins the sale for me, good deals but not great deals.

"Thank you for taking the time to write.

Sobeys accepts one coupon per purchase. The coupon value cannot exceed the price
of the item. In the case of a BOGO - a coupon will be accepted for the purchased
item; however, a coupon cannot be used for the free item.

I hope this clarifies the policy.
