I also posted it on my Facebook. It`s a great way to start early Spring cleaning, and a great way to say that you helped. The economy is still tough and not everyone has the means to donate money. Plus, shoes really go overlooked.

I was just about to clear out the shoes closet and I'm sure I've got about 10 to 15 prs of shoes to giveaway. Also, don't forget that eventhough Haiti is warm and dry country, don't forget there are hurricanes there, so waterproof boots are ideal as well.

EXCELLENT post!! I had looked before for an official softmoc event page on facebook, but couldn't find one.

Event pages are good because eventually more friends of friends (of friends) will see someone is 'attending' the event and then it catches on from there (as opposed to it just being in your profile alone).

I created an event in Facebook to help spread the word. It's called

"Help Those in Haiti! SHOES FOR HAITI"


Anyone interested in joining the event to spread the word, please PM me with your email address so I can invite you through the facebook page.

It seems to only let me invite people NOT in my friends list by sending the invite to their email address directly.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, but even with editing this board won't let me include the name of the FB group. I must be breaking etiquette of some sort??

StephanieC what is the event called- you have to make the event public and allow anyone to join. I have tried searching Soft Moc, Donate Shoes, etc. and nothing is coming up. Invite me to it please: meguwo[at]hotmailDOT[com] or you can sed me an invite- my name is Megan Hickman and my facebook pic is the Soft Moc one.

You can make me an admin and I will be able to change some of the settings so anyone can join by clicking a link.
