If he has an ipod and doesn't have an ipod dock- a clock radio dock would be a good gift. That'd involve some snooping though, maybe. A nice leather belt? American Eagle has nice belts...A framed Marilyn Monroe print...everyone loves Marilyn, right? lol A coffee gift basket- in something masculine, like a tool box? Or...just the tool box. A tool box and a gift card from Home Depot? A car cleaning kit? You could put it together yourself. A flask?

Well it all depends, do you know them very well? Or is it a office secret santa.
If i didn't know them I would probably go for a gift card or a nice wine or a gift set containing spices and hot sauces.
If I did know them I'd go for something they might need or enjoy.
A board game ie- apples to apples, scatagories, ect...
or one of these crazy alarm clocks that seem to be poping up everywhere.Savings are like honey, oh so sweet.

if you don't know his tastes, i'd get a $25 gift card to something everyone can use (Cineplex, Canadian Tire) plus a bottle of wine.
I hate to spend money on something that a recipient may not use.
if you know them, get them something a little 'extravagant' that they wouldn't get themselves. Scotch drinker? a small bottle of the best scotch you can get for that money. A foodie? a few really nice ingredients that people don't spring for themselves - truffle oil, etc.

What about a gift card to a grocery store? I know that was one of the best gifts that i have gotten when me and hubby got married. We were able to get something from the store that we wouldn't normally get (aka good cuts of steak :D). This could be nice especially if you have any local specialty grocery stores.
If you don't want to do that, as I know sometimes you want to get a gift instead of a giftcard, what about making a nice gift basket with different coffee's and a nice travel mug. You could then throw in a $10 gift card to tim hortons or a local coffee shop.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:

I was at Winners the other day and they had lots of different gift ideas.I got a Columbia brand name pocket knife with a bunch of different tools on it for just $9.99. They also had really nice manicure sets by Columbia for that price as well.I am going to add a gift card to the box and wrap it up.

Why not get him an "experience" gift? I'm sure it's unique and maybe he hasn't ever received one before (in that case, he'll definitely remember it). Maybe a cooking class or an hour car rental for a Ferrari or something like that. You can find these kinds of things for $50. I would definitely remember a gift like that and would treasure it always.
