    Hi!
I am new in SC (my first post) and also for games.

For sure, I want to buy PS3 or XBOX Kinect OR Wii. I have not played any of them, till now. I am not at all a games person but, I want to be a part of it...enjoy them now!!!! I need your advise on followings:

1: Out of above three, which is best in terms of technology? pleasure of play and added features?

2: What are the advantages / disadvantages of each of them?

3: Which is a best place to buy it (in terms of quality and price)?

4: What are the accessories available with each of them?

5: Which is a reasonable in on-going expenses (like buying game cds)?

Any answer is appreciated. Just think that I am starting from scratch in this games and need your help.

    Kind Regards,
    Lizza.

ps: I am not sure, is it a right forum to place my concern?

    Speaking as a non-gamer.

    1. In terms of processing power, PS3 wins, in terms of controller technology, Kinect wins.

    2. PS3: blur-ray, Gran Turismo 5, 1080p
XBox360: Strong online game community, Kinect, 1080p, no blu-ray.
Wii: good party games, cheap. Old. Wiimote had its good time but Microsoft and Sony have better controllers now.

    3. Look around.

    4. PS3: additional DS3 controller, one or more Move controller?
XBox360: get the Kinect bundle. Buy additional controller if you need them.
Wii: additonal Wiimote with Wiimotion Plus, Wii Balance board if you like fitness game or go for Kinect.

    5. no comment.

We have purchased the Xbox 360 over the PS3 because of the fact that it is way better in technology than the PS3 yes the PS3 has a blu ray but what use will that be when digital download takes over which is in the near future and wee love that netflix is available through the xbox and not the ps3. We just recenlty purchased the Kinect and love it you can play games against other friends who also have the the kinect through xbox live not sure if you can do that with the PS3. There is no need for extra controller like the PS3 you have to buy them individually and that cost more where as the kinect was only one piece at 149.99. I would compare all systems and see what are your needs than pick the system that best fits it

Thanks for a quick reply. Some more points you relaay highlighted....

PS3 costs $399 in sony style.

I am surprised by cost of kinect. Does kinect need any other attachment / system? Its less than half the cost of PS3.
Does Kinect comes with any game cd/dvd? From where did u buy it?

    thank you for your help..

With the Kinect you need to have an Xbox 360 in order to use it. It is an attachment for the x-box 360.

    You can get a 4 gig x-box 360 with connect for $299 or a 250 gig one for $399

You can get a PS3 320 gig with Move for $399.

(personally I would get the one with the larger harddrive, as my husband bought a 40 gig ps3 when it first came out and now is wishing he had bought one with a larger harddrive).

    Netflix IS available through PS3.

OP what do you want from your system & what types of games are you looking to play?
    We have PS3 & wii.
While I tend to play the wii more, DH plays the PS3 more.
DH has always been into games and has no desire for an xbox.
If you want to play action/fight games then PS3.
If you want to play arcade games or mario games then the wii.

    We have all 3 systems.

If you want it for the movement ability then wii. Its the original.

Ps3 is pretty versatile with internet, blu ray, gaming etc so it depends relly.

We have played the Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Kinectamals and Biggest Loser and I love them all and we are considering selling our wii as the whole family is loving the kinect its so easy for the kids to use and older adults as there is no remotes to use you use your hand to select them menus on screen.

i also look for additional feature like dvd movie player, wi-fi, bluetooth, internet...
    does xbox have them?

i understand to play xbox, w/o remote.
does that giv "real" play/thrill pleasure of a game? Does xbox have more option of game?

XBox 360 Slim has WIFI, BT (I think), Internet, Media/DVD player. Very similar to PS3.

XBox has traditional controllers for serious games like CoD, Halo... Hardcore gamers still prefer traditional controllers over the Kinect, Move, Wiimote.
