(Edit): Ugh, thought it was this coming Tues, but just checked my calendar and the 1st Tues of Dec is the 7th...oh well, on with the post:

The last time I shopped the 15% off event at Sobey's I noticed they took the 15% off the grocery total, but only after cashiers entered the coupons at full value (with no adjustment at the end to compensate) - and I just got my Stouffer's FPCs in the mail

That means if you use an FPC for say...$10, the product will only cost $8.50 after the discount, but the coupon will be entered as $10, so in this case it would be $1.50 made towards other purchases. The same would apply if you had a coupon to get a product for free, or almost free - any overage after the 15% product discount would be used towards other groceries.

Now I'm torn as to whether to save my FPC's for the next 20x Shoppers (and risk them being entered as a 2002 ), or spend them all at Sobey's.

Has anyone else taken advantage of the 15% off deal, or do you wait for SDM? The Village Mall location often enters my FPC's as 2001....That same theoretical $10 at SDM on 20x day is $3.58 w/o bonus redemption, and at the highest redemption level (according to my tired calculations).

    Thoughts?

I would say use your coupons at Sobeys. One time I was trying to use a free item coupon at Shoppers Village Mall and they wouldn't use 2002 code because the cashier said they only use 2002 for buy 1 get 1 free.I always use free item coupons at Sobeys,SaveonFoods or Safeway.

I can see your dilemma. I use mine at Sobey's or Zellers etc. I have the VIP SPC card that gives 10% at Zellers and take advantage of the extra coming off to pay for my other things. I have never had Shoppers use the 2001 code for the FPC's. So no luck for me there.

Oohhh, I didn't even think of that for the Zeller's SPC!! I'll have to do that with the ones that expire before Sobeys Cust. Appreciation (I have a few dog treat ones that are almost due). Thanks!

I guess I won't chance it at SDM, since the 2001 is hit and miss, and will just make off with my 15%

    Thanks for the input guys!
