    Hi,

I have been thinking for a while now that I would like to learn how to garden mainly becuase i see the potential cost savings and i heard it is a good way to releive stress. Unfortunatly I live in a 1 bdrm condo highrise my balcony faces south and I do not have any windows by my kitchen.....I was wondering if anyone has any advice on gardening in this situation....I have seen the aero gardens and for xmas have asked friends just to get me a gc to cdn tire as i know they have them there but they are over $200 and require alot of seed purchases so not sure if this would defeat my first goal of savings money....any thoughts?

    thnx

You could do the Aero garden for enjoyment not for the money savings. You could have a look at the library some books have been written about container gardening indoors that would be money saving.Who knows they might have Aero gardens on a boxing day sale.

The aerogarden is alright if you are looking to grow herbs. If you really want to garden and save money, your best bet would be to buy some cheap pots/planters and soil. In the spring you can plant seeds and by summer/fall you will have fresh vegetables. Start with easy to grow plants (carrots, lettuce, tomatoes). A search of the internet will provide you with an abundance of information on container gardening. Because you are south facing you will get lots of sunlight.

    Good luck
