Okay, maybe this is more a question than a brag, but I figure I'm more likely to get a response by posting in this forum...
I received an e-mailed Optimum Plus coupon from SDM the other day for 10,000 points when spending $50 or more. Since I needed some things, I figured that the 10,000 points was better than the $10 Tim Horton's GC offer, so I decided to use the coupon today, expecting that I could only use one or the other.
Anyway, the cashier at my SDM, who's a cashier supervisor, has worked there forever, and is very efficient and aware of store policies, actually scanned the coupon and STILL gave me the GC for spending $50, apparently fully aware of what she was doing. I was shocked, especially since this is the cashier who usually examines manufacturer coupons so carefully.
Is this usual? Anyone else had this happen? Does it work this way because the GC offer is not a "Shoppers Optimum offer" per se?This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

I used the same coupon last week and received 7000 points for my 50.00 order and she said the other 10,000 would be added by Feb 15 as per the coupon.

I'm not a Plus member so I don't know how these deals work for the bonuses.

I have this debate last year with a cashier she called over a manager.
It does state on it cannot be combine with any other offer. So it can't be combined with a gc offer.
They did scan it though. We both agreed that headoffice wouldn't add the points if they read the coupon the same way as I did. And I totally forgot about it and never remembered to see if they did add the points or not!
I used it today too. I was buying that stuff anyways so if I don't get the points it doesn't matter. The cashier didn't even question it. Maybe this time I'll remember to watch for the points.

I got the offer too. I thought it said any other Optimum offers or something to that effect. Not just offers in general

This is what it says:
Not to be used in conjunction with any other Shoppers Optimum Points® promotions
or offers
"or offers" is the debate.
I personally think that means the $10 gc. BUT I tried anyways!
But then that can also mean it can't be used with the other bonus coupons that are emailed out with this one! And I know they do work together!
So who really knows what is going on in the lil' world of shoppers drug mart.
I'll try to remember to check my account and call if I don't see the points...but there is good odds I'll forget or lose my bill by that point!
