Thread: Price matching at Zellers
-
Fri, Dec 17th, 2010, 12:59 AM #1
Does anyone know if Zellers will take a print out from the Walmart website for price matching? The specific item I am looking for is on sale but not showing in the flyer but it is online. Can I print out the page and bring it to Zellers?
Also, I have never price matched before (I am learning so much here) but do I have to go to customer service to do the price match or can any cashier do it for me?
Thanks in advance!

I don't think they would take a printout for online because you can have sales online but not in stores, and also online sometimes offers different prices than in store

I think it has to be a flyer otherwise it could be a store specific price for a store out of their area or an online deal only
A printout of the flyer may work rather than an actual flyer but I doubt a printout of a page

Apparently Zellers used to do PMing with website fliers (printouts I guess). I only found out when the CS rep told me about the changes in their policies and 'no more website PMing' was one of the changes!
You should be able to do PMing with any cashier. If they do not know how, they will call the head cashier. Good luck!

I have an Email from a Zellers Rep that says they will PM from printed flyers. I've only done it a few times and each time the cashier has been confused as to whether or not they can do it and so I have had to show the Email from Head Office that says it's okay.

I'm wondering if Zellers will price match an item from an actual store flyer for a sale that takes a percentage off rather than an item on sale for a specific price. Is that confusing? Here's an example: Neutrogena skin care products are 20% at Save-On-Foods in their current ad and I'd like to PM at Zellers so I can use my SPC MasterCard plus use those HBC bonus points coupons.
Has anyone tried it? If not, do you think it should work?

Walmart also dont PM items like that (and strictly speaking, they say they don't match 2 for $x but I have seen them do it)

Had a real problem today at zellers (micMac Mall dartmouth NS). Went to cashier who told me they don't price match a 2 day sale ( royale tissue at shopper's ), sent me to customer service, as I got there a supervisor approached me asking if I was the lady trying to price match a 2 day sale, said yes, she rudely told me that they dont price match a 2 day sale, asked her if I could see that in their written policy as I hadn't heard of that before ( I was very very nice), she wasnt happy, went away, came back and told me the manager told her that they would not price match, asked again about the written policy, she handed me the flyer and said it is in their flyer, I read it, didn't say anything about that at all, asked again for the written policy ( really nicely I might add) she went away, opened a book, looked at it and came back to me and said they would price match...phew...first time I stood my ground, but really hadn't heard of that anywhere before....so beware

I asked 2 employees yesterday if they'd PM safeway, and they said yes. I get up to the checkout and the woman goes CLUB PRICE? IS IT CLUB PRICE? NOPE NOPE CAN'T DO THAT. Yes, lady, everything in the flyer is club price, the card is free and takes literally 2 minutes to get, it's not like I have to work at all to get that price. Everything in all the major grocery stores' flyers in my area is some sort of club price except RCSS.
*Sigh* just one more reason to skip Zellers.

I price matched at Zellers for the first and last time today. They cut the items out of the flyer that I was price matching. Well thanks, now I can't price match them at WalMart. There were several things going on and I was dealing with a manager on another topic, and the cashier never told me she had to cut the items out. They only had a couple of each item that I was PM'ing, so I was planning on going to WM to get a few more. Now that means I would have to drive around getting more flyers. Is this normal for Zellers to cut out the items?
