Toys R US Price Matching Sucks

This Morning I went to Toys R Us to price match for DSI XL that is on sale in zellers for $139.99 (Regular $169.99), I promised my son for his birthday but was waiting for to put on sale, which is hardly seen till last six months. anyways I went to Toys R us and asked them to price match so I can get additional 10% off but to my surprise they didn't call the stores and told me straightly that they called few Zellers and they don't have any stock for it, and it was 10am in the morning, two hours from the sale started. So I went straightly to Zellers to find out and guess what they had so many in stock, the Zellers I went to was 2km from the Toys r Us. I knew they were lying but I didn't have a proof, I was planing to go back to them to teach them a lesson but didn't have much time but I am going to call the customer service and tell them if they don't want to do the price match, take off the signs from the store.

Why didn't you just ask Zellers to do an item inquiry or price check and give it to you to take to TRU to prove that they at least have one in stock?

I didn't have enough time to go back to TRU but I called TRU and complained. Anyways I bought one from Zellers with the same price(DH applied for HBC Mastercard so got 10% off the price).

Its better to call from your cell phone right away the other store ( Zellers ) in front of the TRU employee to confirm that they do have it in stock , if you suspect that the TRU employee is lying ..if the TRU employee doesn't believe you , handover the cell phone to him/her to verify
