well the stupid thing is i signed up for the free trial and waited about 2 weeks for the dvd for the Wii to come. The day i got it was the day the told me i don't need it any more -__-'

Selection wasn't worth it for me, I thought i'd use it just to watch the movies I can't rent/get at work.

Just to give you an idea of the bandwidth requirements that Netflix will use

Netflix Movies (HD): About 3,600MB for a 2 hour HD movie.
Netflix Movies (SD): Each of these movies are around 500-700MB each, depending on the length of the movie.
Netflix TV Shows (HD): A 30-minute TV show will be about 1,500MB.
Netflix TV Shows (SD): A 30-minute TV show will be about 400MB.

If you've got a bandwidth cap, you'll have to factor in your regular Internet usage together with your Netfix usage to avoid going over your bandwidth cap. (Most of the Internet providers have some tool to help you monitor your current and past usage)

everyone should make themselves aware of how much bandwidth they're allowed, and how to track it - especially now with almost all dsl ISPs lowering the cap (at least in Ontario)

some people think this means how much they're allowed to download, and think well I never download anything - but EVERYTHING you do on the internet uses bandwidth - even visiting Smartcanucks , or checking your email, and just browsing around...

I am loving the documentaries on Netflix.ca. Just watched one about Yellowstone Park in three parts done by the BBC.

Fantastic footage and I learned a lot including some things I would not have believed.

Shows we are watching now are Earth2 and Highlander seasons 1.

I did find a news feed that shows what new shows are added to Netflix.ca each day.

For us, it is certainly worth it as there is a multitude of shows to watch and I like having entire TV series on demand instead of buying them. That alone pays for the service.

I thought about trying netflix, got through the whole installation then needed a CC. BOO.(not that i expected any less but i thought i would try it lol) I have always just found what i wanted to watch online for free anyways(sure im still useing bandwidth, but at least im not paying for it twice! =) lol

I used to be a Rogers Video Direct customer, which was through zip.ca and I found the service not so bad, everything came pretty quick. The only downside was that new releases you'd have to wait forever for, but they had a large quantity of my obscure b-movies which made me happy ^_^ Around the holidays we also wanted to check out Netflicks, the selection was very disappointing. We were at the parents place for the holidays and they ranted and raved about the wonders of Netflicks.. They didn't even have A Christmas Story! We had to pay $3.99 on Rogers On Demand to get it, A Christmas Story! Even the small selection of Christmas movies they did have were none worth watching. It seems like a really good deal and service, however the selection isn't worth it at the time. We stream ALOT of stuff just because we don't have time for actual television and a PVR is too expensive so we watch stuff the next day, commercial free.

Netflix was just starting in canada, they will soon be as good as the american netflix. Its very much worth the $7.99 for me. I've already watched several movies on my xbox with friends in other countries. It was loads of fun.
