Congratulations Sally888!
Part of my work is to help people who want to quit.
I know that it is a very hard addiction to break. But you did it.
And are reaping the benefits financially! WTG.
Imagine, investing the 3500 in a tax free savings account and seeing where you are in 10 years...Wow.
I'm happy for you.

I quit smoking a pack a day (for 16 years) 18.5 years ago. According to my caluclations (averaging $8.00 per day, it was $9.00 when I quit, and I think they are about $10.00 a large pack now) I saved fifty six thousand dollars (and change)!! Hubby saved even more!
Not gonna feel bad at all now when hubs and I go on our 25th anniversary trip to Australia and blow the budget to the tune of 10 grand in 3 weeks!
Congrats to you and all the other quitters! And believe me, if I can do it, (not even a puff in 18.5 years) anybody can...I was a hardcore smoker.Last edited by Kimmar; Mon, Jan 17th, 2011 at 02:15 PM.

I think the real impact here is not just $ value, but health of the smoker and anyone who are sensitive to smoke. Some of the smoker's out there are quite insensitive for smoking indoor / non designated area etc...
Congrats for quitting smoke successfully.
