seriously though, mousse? i don't think it's the right texture for cupcakes. i'd stick with frosting.

Sure, sure - Mousse is a great topping you just have to keep it in the fridge so it doesn't get room temp and loose consistancy - I'm the happy housewife and I love sweets - I just try to keep my girly figure and dont eat to much of them. And in a pinch when its all you got why not although icing is easy to make! or you could even melt chocolate chips and drip the cupcakes into them then top it with sprinkles.....
