I just got back from RCSS and it was a complete nightmare. I love the store, don't get me wrong, but my cashier was horrendous! I even scanned my cashier options and lucked out since I picked a dud :/

Everything I wanted was in stock which rocked. Everything leading up to the cashier was goodtimes...here's what I got.

    3xGilette Fusion Razors 6.99ea (4.00 coup x 3)
1xGilette Fusion Razor 6.99ea (Free Gilette Bodywash with purchase - 5.49!)
    2 Old Spice Deod. 1.64ea (1.00 coup x 2)
    1 Old Spice Deod. 1.64ea (B1 G1 Old Spice Body Wash 4.29!)
    St.Ives Citrus Body Wash 2.99 (1.50 coup)
    St.Ives Apricot Face Wash 2.99 (1.50 coup)
    2xSecret Flawless 1.64ea (B2 save 2.00)
Honey Bunches of Oats 1.74 (1.00 coup)
    2xSidekicks .84ea (2x.25 coups)
Contac Cold Pills 4.99 (On sale for 5.00 off!)

Ok so I approach the cashier and tell her I have coupons and she gives me this look of fear and annoyance. She tells me to put the coupons on all of the products that they correspond with but I tell her that won't really work since some of them are free with others etc.
She starts punching things in and seems to be ok with everything, then she gets to the coupon where you get a free bodywash with "any old spice product". I found this coupon at the front of the store btw on the board!
I told her that it didn't specify size or product but she kept scanning it over and over...reading it like crazy then finally accepted it. I used it on a 1.64 deodorant to get a 4.29 body wash. This is the kicker...she wrote 4.29 on the coupon and punched in 4.00!! I'm not sure what she was trying to prove but I let her know that she couldn't make up her own amounts!

Lastly, she was punching in the razors. She punched in two with the 4.00 off coupons then gave me the other one back saying "You can't use this many coupons"....I told her "You HAVE to be kidding me, you're just making that up because I can definitely buy more than 2". She said she was going to go ask her manager but she was quite certain I couldn't use more than 2 coupons. ARGH!!! The lineup was growing behind me and people were mumbling...awesome! She comes back and the manager said it was fine and that she would override the extras. Yay!
I will definitely be avoiding that cashier in the future but I did score some sweet deals so it kinda made up for it

Im not sure if this would help, but whenever I go to RCSS and I'm going to use coupons I go to the self check out. The person there (usually a teenager) doesnt care and there isnt a coupon limit so the manager doesnt come to override it. Try it next time!

Are you saying that they do not have the $10 limit at the self-checkout?

I am jealous at the deals.I have yet to try and "stack" at the Superstore. The cashiers hate to see me coming as it is!!! Just wondering are the in-store coupons the ones that say zone" on the top of them??? I have no clue when it comes to this!!LOL!! I looked at some and they said "can not be combined with any other coupons or promotional offers".So I am scared to try!!

So you can use coupons at the self checkout.. hmm I didn't know that. SO does the person over there have to come and input all your coupons? How does the process work?

    Thanks

the $10 limit sucks, but if you find a good, PATIENT cashier then it's no problem. I used $35 in coupons on the weekend there with no issue at all. DIdn't even check the expiry dates (which were all valid lol)

I just learned something new too. I didnt know that you could use coupons at the self check out. I prefer this method when I dont have too many items.

They just get an over-ride if you go over the $10 limit, I usually go over when I shop at RCSS and have had no problems at all. I don't do the self-checkout because I wouldn't know how to do coupons there and I would think I would have more trouble there cause the associate has to come over and verify all the coupons anyway.

As for the original post, I think you did nothing wrong using all those coupons at all. I would of done the same thing.

Sounds like you did great! Just a heads up that my Superstore also had a 3$ off a fusion razor instore coupon! I stacked it with a 4$ off and voila, a free razor!

As for the self serve check out, it is so EASY! When you are done scanning all your items, you can click on a button indicating how you want to pay, or eem coupons". Click on it, and away you go! Its as easy as clicking on "Manufacturer coupon" and then entering 1.00, 2.00, 5.00.... and so on. When you've finished entering them it will tell you "Give coupons to attendant" . On their little screen at their podium they can see a copy of your receipt and go from there. I find they normally just hit the button so you can pay and be on your way and hardly even look at the coupons!

As for coupons you CAN'T use at the self serve check out, you can't use the Similac checks without an override as well as any coupon over 10$ (IE the current phone card coupon).

As for angry people behind you at check out, they're just jealous of your awesome savings! To bad for them! LOL
    Keep Smiling!
