haha I know what you mean I actually only start back next week after a year off... and I will get like one shift a month cuz I have a nother job a few days a week no benefits well unless you count showing up in PJ's and dragging my kids as one lol, but because there are two days a week I can't work I will only get one shift a month like wtf....
but ya the store I'm starting back at is great, the other one I worked O M G horrible horrible place, customers are mean as heck, I had seen girls run off crying their first day on till. but the one i'm at now I love the ppl. gotta love small towns haha

I will NEVER attempt to work for RCSS again! I applied there back in roughly 2005. I got all the way up to training week well mid way though the week I came down with a really bad case of bronchitis and got put on strict bed rest for a week. They told me if I could not come in and finish my training that I was fired(before i even technically started)!!!!!! I wa so pissed off I dont think I even shopped there for a few years afterwards!!

That's too bad. The only thing that really annoyed me was that training wasn't paid...even though the hours amounted to one work week .

I have been considering getting a second job at rcss when I get back to work in october after mat leave. what is the discount like? how are they at scheduling you if you have another job?

The discount's only 10%, but it's valid on just about everything (even produce). Milk isn't included, but I'm not sure what else.

You need to be available for one full weekday and two six hour shifts on two other days. You'll get anywhere from 4-12 hours a week if you're restricted like that.

thanks for the info. I am hoping to go back to work after mat leave for just 2 days a week, then work at rcss or elsewhere nights to make up for the lost income. just need to work less during the day to save on daycare. if I work nights when my husband is home then I don't have to worry about paying daycare the extra 10% off will be a nice bonus too since I do most of my shopping at rcss.

No problem! Sorry, I meant you had to be available for one whole week end day, plus two other six hour shifts on two other days. You can make yourself available more than that too, but I don't know if that'll increase your hours.
