Thanks! I'm having one of those self doubt moments. Like we should totally have an emergency jar in the cupboard for this sort of thing. But it's never occured to us because it's never happened. Plus I hate feeling useless right now. Right now he's at the hospital with his dad and I'm here. I want to be there with him but someone has got to be with the girls. My hubby has been a real d**k lately. We aren't on good terms right now. So he had a cow when I suggested I go with him to the emergency. He said he was taking him and I just didn't feel like argueing. But I feel super useless right now. This all sucks the big one!

I haven't been using coupons for long... wish I would have started years ago! There were many nights that I went without so my kids could eat.

There are always food banks. And someone has to show you how to shop smart and do cheap meals. I remember when I was a kid and things were tight, my grandmother would get a bunch of turkey necks for a few cents, boil it with some carrots and pick off whatever meat was there when it was done. Sometimes she'd have noodles, sometimes it'd be just broth, but it would feed and fill us for a few nights.
