I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba...live right downtown in the heart of the city :)
I'm from the West side of Winnipeg.
I'm from Burnaby, BC....we have beautiful weather here and it was just sunny but cold and it just snowed 2 days ago...Saturday all day and probably got about 6 inches?...then it rained yesterday so it's just slushy.
I'll add the provinces to the group list later today -- I think of more things as I start more groups. :-)
My favorite thread for now is:

Here I can find what coupons will be found in stores starting March.
I am from Vancouver and I don't miss the snow!
I am conducting a train and I am passenger in other six trains. Very busy but big fun!
I am from Toronto, Ontario.
As an aside just because I am soooo excited when I was out today searching for coupons I decided to go to a grocery store I hadn't been to in over a year (Sobey's) because it is a little far from where I live. So imagine my surprise when I get there and see that there is now a No Frills store further down the street  All this time I didn't know that there was one downtown and I have been missing out on great deals. The 4K walk is now well worth it if there is a sale
I just participated in my first train TODAY! Talk about uncanny timing :)
The train I participated in was for Ontario and was a food/grocery train. I picked out $10 worth of coupons and put in $18 (I just wanted to be nice to the others after me). I found it a little strange that there was non food coupons in the envelope (shampoo, toothpaste etc) but I guess that is where the grocery store part comes in.
I have also signed up for another train through one of the great SC'ers that I met at my first meet up last week.
My first meet up was great. There were about a dozen ppl there and everyone was really nice and offered me a lot of tips. I got a lot of coupons as well.
Has anyone else gone to a meet up?
I also like the "deal busting divas"
and now to finish catching up :
1. Do I shop every week?
Yes I do. I could probably go a few weeks without shopping but then I wouldn't have any fresh produce.
2. Do I use coupons every time I shop?
Generally yes. Although if there is a good deal and I don't have a coupon it won't stop me from buying it. Today I bought ML bacon for 2.77 because I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere else.
3. Do I save my coupons until there is a sale?
I do now. I learnt that lesson the hard way by seeing an item go on sale a few weeks after I bought it with a coupon.
4. How long do I spend planning things out?
Generally about an hour a week. I go through the fliers I receive and cross reference it with the thread they have each week that talks about which fliers have which deals (this is in the deals section). I then plan our dinners around what is on sale for the week.
5. Do I go to the same stores all of the time or do I go where the deals are?
I go where the deals are. I am lucky that within a 5KM radius I have the following stores I can walk to: Loblaws, Sobeys (2), Metro, Longo's, Shoppers Drug Mart (3), Rexall and my new discovery No Frills.
I think I am all caught now!
I also vote for "Deal Busting Divas"
I am from a little town on West Coast Vancouver Island. We're being whipped by a wind storm today.
I'm a little behind on our activity......is our group train still going?
I've participated in a couple of trains now. To be honest, it's bit a little hit and miss. One train I received was full of lots of junk coupons, many multiples, and quite a few expired coupons...I was pretty disappointed as not only was it worth it to receive but I also had to pay money to ship it to the next person. I just have to learn to be a little more choosy as far as the train guidelines, train conductor, and train participants.
Yep - the train rider list is almost ready. I'll be posting it later and some other information.
Seems like storms and bad weather are lots of places. Heard of two different people who slid off roads and rolled over but thank goodness the peole were safe.
The Deal Busting Divas Train is almost ready to pull out of the station:
Chimmi Toronto, ON
fourfurryfeet Barrie, ON
Jezzeebelle Winnipeg, MB
BVOGT30 Winnipeg, MB
middleclassmom Port Alberni, BC
kk008 Burnaby, BC
Anyone else want a ticket to ride?
I will flip a coin to see if we go East or West first. :-) Any major vacations anyone that we need to route the train around?
Train Guidelines - Flushed Out with More Details
This is a “basic garden variety” train – lots of different coupons, no more than two each, and mostly food. There are no FPCs or High Value. It's $ and cents off.
The Train Rules
Boarding pass: Waived by conductor, this ride is free :-)
- Please replace what you take, $ for $ value, Buy 1/Get1, MIR, etc. and record coupon value in and out on the log sheet.
- Remember only 2 of each coupon, so you can't replace and add a 3rd one of the same kind in the train already.
- Coupons that you put in the train must not expire before the end of May.
- Brandsaver, save.ca may be included. No printed, French, store specific or Toonies for Tummies unless specifically requested on someone's wish list.
- If you receive this train in April, we'll advance coupon expiry date for the ones you add by a month to June 30. Why? This train may not make it home by May 31.
Post on this thread AND PM me as soon as the envelope arrives.
Mail out the train within 48 hours (24 hours is better) - Please go to a post office and weigh the envelope(many trains are delayed and basically unusable by the time it's returned for lack of postage) to ensure correct postage. Pack the envelope securely.
Tell me what you take out and what you replaced it with. Usually we post a summary on the thread ie took 2 $1 off, 1 MIR, 3x BOGO, replaced with 2 x $1, 1 MIR, 2 BOGO
Train Rating
I will leave a rating for each rider. This will help build your trade rating. I would appreciate a trade rating from each of you for me as conductor. (This is standard protocol). You can leave ratings for fellow riders if you wish.
Oh pick me pick me!!!!! Please, Please, Please!!!
