I purchased a DVD at WM. The tag said $16.93. It rang up at $19.93. I went to costomer service and she offered me the difference I said shouldn't it be SCOP and she said not on ticketed items - is this true?

Scop pertains to all items. if the price was $16.93 and it rang up at $19.93 then it should be $10 off which would make it $6.93. If it was under $10 it would be free.

Actually, it only applies to non-ticketed items. If the tag on the shelf would have read that price and it rang up something different, than it would apply...but since it was a sticker on the DVD and it rang up differently, it doesn't apply. This happened to me before too and I asked here and somebody posted the terms of SCOP, I don't remember where they are though.

It falls under the human error thing when it's stickered wrong. I had some lady argue SCOP over deli meat - but it was just tagged with the wrong UPC basically so it didn't fall into that category, because all it needed to be was reweighed with the right code back in the deli dept.

Stickered items are also a little funny because (unfortunately) people are known to switch tags/stickers, trying to get the cheaper price.

shelf tags are done by the POS system and they're more than often computerized, so it's a little more than human error (although shelf signs that they forgot to take down are... but still!).

It makes sense I guess. But at least they price adjusted it for you!

Oh yes, I see what you are referring to now. Your talking about a sticker applied by someone versus a store generated sticker. Sorry my mistake.
