Hi, this is going to be my first coupon train, and hopefully it won't be my first one. I'm from newfoundland, but I'm in the process of gathering a lot of coupons that's great in other provinces. I'm looking for people to add to the list to send these coupons too. If you would like to join then just pm me your information.

I'm currently waiting on some coupons to arrive in the mail, before I sends it off. I'll let you know total value of the coupons when I receives them.

    Just wondering if I could get a little info on this as well;
    1. What size envelope to use?
    2. How should I sort them?
    3. What is the usual value of the coupons sent per envelope.

Thanks for your help, I'm really looking forward to keeping this up!

I'd love to join your coupon train. What's the Boarding Pass requirement?

I'm a newbie as well so I can't really help you much. I think the standard size envelope for lettermail should work fine, one can usually fit many many coupons. You can sort by categories, or just a mix of coupons from different categories. The value of the coupons is determined by you, $60, $100, $150, etc, it's completely up to you.

How many coupons will determine the size of the envie...Ive noticed sorting varies , and determine a value you want to send... then they are taken out and replaced, and sent on..but, hey , Im a newbie too lol.

    Hi,
I'll join (PM address after posting this msg).
As to your question, I am also new but have been on several trains, trades and ran a train myself.
Try to use a standard longer envelope and fold bigger coupons in half. Then tape it up good on seams, keeps your postage down. You can fit a lrg amount in, if you don't sort or bag and then get it weighed. Might be one stamp or maybe 2 to send on.
The usual value, I would say would be around the 100-150 mark.

Just give lots of details and maybe some hints as to what you'd like for coupons with a baggie including where ppl can put in what you'd like as a boarding pass or a stamp or two etc. It's alot of work to keep on top of it, so your efforts are worth something.

    I would like to ride

as to envie size I usually use 4x6 I take a sheet of printer paper and fold it in half(it is usually my rider list)put the coupons evenly placed on half the sheet making sure not too make it too fat in the middle once I have the amount of coupons arranged I want to use I then slip it into the envelope and mail

you should state what type of coupons you want/don't want in the train eg:printed/french/save.ca ect...

how soon they need to mail it once recieved (best to mail from the post office to ensure enough postage)

earliest expiry dates allowed on the train...
    hope this helps...

I like the 4x6 envie ($$ store) as I don't have to fold any coupons and even the largest ones fit nicely...

Hi I'd like to join your train too
you put the coupons in an envelope.. legal size works pretty good. Put what we call a log sheet in it. This lists the passengers and their addresses and to the right add places for people to write how much they take out and how much they put back in. Then you ask them to post on the this thread when it is received and when they send it out (usually within 24 hours) You can either ask people to give you one or two postage stamps as a boarding pass, they can write their name on the back and put a small envelope on the train with Boarding Passes marked on it. Or you can edit your first thread and instead ask people as a boarding pass to put in an envelope one or two of coupons off your specific Wish List coupons..saying that if they don't have any then put in stamps as boarding passes... All up to You. Conductor's get to create there own train Sounds like fun! I'll PM you with my addy. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions if you like.

There is some great advice in here. However, if you're still unfamiliar with trains, I would suggest reading through some of the active train threads in the forum. Take a look at what others posted in their train threads. That might give you an idea of where you can start. And remember, there is no right or wrong way to run a train!

This is great, I can't wait to send my first train. I'm still waiting on a few coupons I've ordered, as soon as I gets them, then the train will be ready to depart
