Hello everyone
I am super new to this... I realized that my grocery bill is way to high and I want to start finding good coupons and deals. I have problems finding coupons for good products. Are there any places in this town where you can find any good coupons? I live in St Albert... Any help would be apprechiated. I do not have a printer which makes this harder for me.

Stores like Safeway, Sobeys, Shoppers and London Drugs have tear pads in them. Most are not for food items but some are.
I haven't found a way to make a huge dent in my food budget as I don't buy cereal and many packaged foods, but I have cut way, way back on the cost of toiletries, laundry soap, paper products, etc., buy using coupons.
Getting an inexpensive printer would be a big help to you.Last edited by bnjj; Sun, Mar 20th, 2011 at 10:23 PM.

yeah, for actual grocheries the coupons aren't super spectacular, but every little bit does help. Sometimes it takes switching brands, for ones that have regular coupons out and for things you can purchase through london drugs (they let you stack...though there are rumors of other stores getting in the wagon too) I find watching sales and stocking up on things you know you'll need, or things that dont expire for a while helps.
Coupons with long expiry dates helps too, then you can wait for awesome sales or clearance even, though a lot of that is the luck of the draw.
I find watching the "brag" section and the coupon & flyers section is a big help, they go though deals they've found and coupons to pair with them to make it even more spectacular. It will take a while to amass coupons, but remember to check out all the sites that mail them to you (save .ca, websave, gocoupons ect) there's a while section of the forum just for that!

Watch places like Groupon, living social, etc. I have gotten some for H&W, D'Arcys butcher, etc., and those help immensely. I have seen over the last few months plenty for bakery's. Although I do coupon (it has taken me a long time to amass anything that may be useful), I am a huge watcher of flyers. I buy items that are on sale if I have a coupon for them, and I also plan my meals around what is on sale (this is by far the biggest cost saving thing I have done). I watch too grocery stores that sometimes offer BOGO, and I also take advantage of SOF on their 15% day. However, be forewarned, I find that SOF inflates their prices dramatically compared to others....biggest advice I can give you is KNOW YOUR GROCERY PRICES! I also never buy anything that I normally wouldn't just because I have a coupon for it.
A lot of people on these boards go to London drugs and stack their coupons, and they also go to No Frills, but personally, I just live too far away from any of those places to make it worth the gas to get out there. I went from spending $700+/month on groceries to under $300. We eat very healthy, never anything processed or sugary. I buy tons of veggies and fruit, leaner meats, and whole grain products, and low fat dairy. We are never starving. Without these boards to help me along though, I don't think I would've been able to do it.Last edited by kissjo; Mon, Mar 21st, 2011 at 03:54 AM.

Does No Frills let you stack Coupons? I shop there all the time but have never seen anyone stack coupons

nope, as someone else said, the only store in Canada that lets you stack coupons is London Drugs. You can use coupons at No Frills, but only 1 per item.
We always shop @ No Frills, I find when they have sales, their prices are the lowest out there. I have gotten lots of things free at No Frills by only using 1 coupon per item, sale + coupon = double whammy!Last edited by stuey87; Mon, Mar 21st, 2011 at 06:25 PM.

that and if you can find a produce only store near by they are SO worth it. I have a H&W Produce right by my house (NE side of town) and it's crazy how good the prices are there, I've walked out time and time again with 5-6 huge bags of veggies & fruit for about $40. SO much cheaper then the retail grochery stores. Watch for sales & deals there too.

I price match and use my coupons at Superstore when they have a coupn out. Right now they have a store coupon out for coolision yogurt for 75 cents. Along with my manufacuturer coupon for $1. The box is onsale for 2.99. So after coupons it comes to $1.24 a box! Superstore allows you to use a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon. Watch their coupons, sometimes they say "manufacturer zone" on the front and not "coupon zone". The manufacturer ones you can take anywhere and the store ones are only good at their store during the dates specified. I like to stock up when I have double coupons!
