...one of the tips was going to a convience store late at night and asking if it's ok to take the extra coupon pages out before they pick up the unsold papers, if I work up the nerve I'm going to try that tonight

I used to be able to do that last year, but my guy is no longer there and I haven't worked up the nerve to ask the new clerks .

I always go first thing on monday morning when they are putting the New paper out, the old ones , they just throw away, so why not ask..Im in a small community and i still manage to get between 40-50 brandsavers ..

I went to a convience store tonight and hinted at it...but he specifically said I had to buy the papers (I went to the till with 3, made sure they all had the inserts first) SO I left 2 papers behind that I paid for, took the inserts and said if anyone wants a paper to give it to them I kinda doubt that will happen though lol.
Oh well, the free chocolate bar in them makes us for the cost of the paper, everything else is butter!

I got two from boxes and then another one when I went to SDM for the points event. By 9AM though, all the newspaper boxes were empty except for the paper on the front of the machine.

The flyers are supposed to come in the Saturday Journal, the Sunday Sun and the Wednesday Examiner. I get the SS in the Examiner but not the brandsaver/red plum ones. I called the Sun/Examiner and they said it was because my neighbourhood was one of the 28 in Edmonton that don't get those particular ones - I asked them if I could start to get it and he said he would see what he could do. From what I gather, the brandsaver insert comes out about 4 times a year, the next one is due April 2nd. They are the most coveted ones because they stack with the online brandsaver coupons at London Drugs. I sure hope I can find a couple inserts. If you are lucky enough to get the brandsaver and redplum ones in your Examiner ask your paper deliverer for the extras - I would LOVE to trade you for a couple inserts!

You can also use Facebook to find out which of your friends do get the Red Plum and Brandsaver flyers - then ask them if they can grab the extras from their paper boy. I usually get extra of the SS one from my deliverer. Red Plum and Brandsaver are distrubuted by Valasis Canada - I called them a couple months a go to let them know I would love to receive them and they mailed me a couple old inserts

Ahhh!!! Imagine my surprise and excitement when my Examiner deliverer dropped off a stack of Smart Source & BRANDSAVER inserts today!! I am so excited. I never get the Brandsaver one! Guess my call into the Sun/Examiner worked!

Yep - asking the delivery boy was what I did - Actually, I called his mother, she said the flyers get delivered on Tuesday and the kids sort them when they come home from school and the paper comes on Wednesday. She said to call on Tuesday to remind them when the inserts come. Eventually I hope they will automatically bring the extras over I have to think of a great way to thank them for going out of their way to bring me their recycling! Any ideas?

I am going to use the coupons to stock up supplies for the toiletry gift bags that our church puts together but will probably have some inserts to trade. Anyone know the going trade rate for inserts? I will probably have extra of the Smart Source and Brandsaver inserts or will trade on a per coupon basis.
