It's been a really bizarre day of shopping for me. It's actually pooped me right out.
So, let's start with the positive:
1) I found 15 Smart Source inserts.
2) I saved $174.31 in coupons today
3) I received 26,260 bonus optimum points
4) I got some great deals
5) Stopped at A&W for dinner and the cashier gave us a bunch of coupons
6) I got a FREE cozy, plush house robe
7) I got to play Coupon Fairy today
Next the not so great:
1) My SDM has implemented a new policy whereby you can only use 1 like coupon per transaction.....it doesn't matter whether the coupon states this or not.....it's a new in-store policy.
(This is what I get for complaining about HORRIFIC customer service). So I had to ring in my order in 4 different transactions......so not all my purchases got to count towards the 20x the points
And my cashier didn't give me my receipt from transaction #2, which especialy sucks because I had purchased an expensive Physician's Formula mascara for a full mail in rebate
2) I bought more than $50 worth of products (before tax) at Canadian Tire today. But because I used coupons on my order they said I didn't qualify for the bonus $10 gift card
I tried to say that coupons are considered a form of tender but they said their system won't allow it
3) My Extra Foods didn't have a single new coupon up on the coupon board
So no extra deals with the instore coupons for Minute Rice and for Swiffer starter kits
4) SDM wouldn't allow my husband and I to each get a FREE robe with purchase of a Biotherme kit.
So only I bought 1.
The horrible:
1) My cashier at Extra Foods was so busy complaining that I came through her till with my coupons, and questioning why I needed extra shampoo, and what I was going to do with all the Kraft Dinner. I got a little frazzled and forgot to use my free $20 GC I received from the promo "buy $60 P&G products receive a $20 PC GC.
Oh well, I'll use it next time.
2) I was walking through Walmart, minding my own business, and chatting away by telling a silly story to my baby boy when the store Customer Service Manager interrupted me to tell me that I shouldn't really be using so many coupons because that isn't how manufacturer's intend for them to be used. (I have been through her till in the past, and she usually keeps an eye on me when I shop as though I'm a common criminal
).
All that aside, we did get some great deals today.

Wow, what a crazy day you had. Wtg on the deals. I can't understand why stores give people a hard time, they get their money back! With prices like food going up more and more people will be using coupons.

OMG! What business is it of the cashier what you are going to do with all of the Kraft Dinner and shampoo??? And the manager approaching you about your coupon usage...wow is she the coupon police? I find that to be out of line and would be following up with a formal complaint if I were you.
Aside from your bad and ugly experiences today, WTG on your deals and savings! You did a fantastic job as always - you go girl

I'm trying to decide whether I should contact HO with respect to not receiving the $10 GC along with providing Revenue Canada's stance on coupons being tender. I'm going to think on it.
Yes it is Hunni. This past week (today is the last day), Quality Foods has Pogos (10 pack) on sale for $4.99 and each box has $10 worth of coupons in it.......when I purchased it I couldn't remember which coupons but i remember some I would use. If you open the box in store before going through the till you'll find $1 off a 10 pack of Pogos inside
No time like the present to use it
