thanks for sharing this story win-star! you did an amazing thing for them and I'm sure they'll remember it forever. I could just imagine her heartbreak having to remove items right there at the cash while counting pennies in her debit account. I remember my mom having to do that on a few ocassions.
Bless you! And your kindness will definitely come back to you. WTG!!!!!!Last edited by $avvy$hopper; Wed, Apr 6th, 2011 at 04:58 PM.

Oh my gosh you made me cry. We're struggling right now but not to that extent. I really feel for this woman. You did a great job WTG. Poor woman I guess this is why we should all give to food drives whenever possible for the unfortunate souls out there. I avoid bringing my daughter (age 2) to the grocery store because I get suckered into buying things for her that I can't afford right now. That being I've never been denied for payment on my bank card. Wow count your blessings people.

I got tears coming to my eyes. When I got separated, I went once to a Super C near my app. Was really short on money and didn't want to borrow from my parents as they were helping enough. Back then the kids were younger. So I get to the cash with 4L milk, 1 dz egg, 1 bread and apples & oranges for each of us. I had taken money from the piggy bank and rolled the coins as I didn't have any paper money. When I tried to pay, the cashier lost patience with me and called her manager. Now I wasn't trying to do grocery for the whole week. And I wasn't trying to buy beer, chocolates and chips or trying to pay with only 1 cent rolls! The cashier's manager comes up and tells me in front of everyone and my kids: this isn't a bank here! I started crying and left the store without nothing.
I never went back there. M O R O N S but bless you that you were there for the lady. I send you a huge HUG and will go dry my eyes.
