Curious but does Walmart, Zellers, Shoppers, LD, etc offer any discounts to employees?

From Googling around: Wal-Mart employees get a 10% discount, Zellers 15%, Shoppers 30% with conditions...

^ Zellers employees only get 10% unless you've been there for more than 15 years - then you get 15% and after 20 yrs you get 20%

I believe shoppers gets 30%, but they cant collect the points if they choose the discount. Its either one or the other, according to a friend that works there.

I use to work for walmart. Yes walmart employees get 10% discount. They are given a card with their name on it, and it has their employee information programmed into it. That card is allowed to be used at any walmart in North America.
I miss my discountJoin GROUPON for incredible deals, click here

Rexal offers employees everything at cost plus 3%. Makeup is super cheap as there is a huge mark up. As well as rexal brand items.

Rare for grocery stores to offere discounts, they say their margins are thin!
I worked for the Bay over Christmas one year, we got a 10% discount there and Zellers (I don't think we had Home Outfitters here then).

Interesting to know.
Will these stores allow coupon use with the discount?

I have heard LD is 30%, and costco does not have a discount but you can have a free membership.
Amazon and Starbucks GiftCards for Searching the net? Yes I did and so can you!

The interest rate matters not if you pay it off! The Visa I have right now is over 19%, but we've never paid a cent in interest but have gotten lots of benefits.
Yeah, I see where you're coming from. But I see where they come from too. Grocery stores especially are pricing things VERY close to cost to remain competitive these days. It's always been the way it's been, grocery stores work close to cost. To give employee discounts now often means selling things below cost to staff. If the discount is good, they're losing money. This is especially true when people buy things for their friends and family, not just themselves.
I'm not defending big business, I don't work for them. But I know the costs of things are going up, and grocery stores especially need to trim to make money. Employee discounts would be the first to be trimmed or gone altogether. I worked for grocery stores for some years in the past, never got a discount.

Zellers/The Bay/Home Outfitters is 10%, and it can't be combined with any other discount. Eg. Student discount card, customer appreciation etc. It also isn't off of everything, there were certain exclusions.
