Has anyone tried the new coupon policy at Walmart yet? They are apparently not reducing a coupon that is more than the price of the product but letting the customers put the overage toward other products purchased and they are allowing competitors coupons + manufacturer coupon to be used (this is like stacking).
I have not tried it yet as I don't shop a lot at Walmart. This might change very soon however. This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

I have never had them adjust a coupon, the always allow the overage - no question asked! I have done it many, many times! I live in SJ.
Good luck!

Thanks. Do you think they realize that the coupon is more than the price of the product?

Yes, they know. The last time, it was only the Advil Nighttime $4 but on sale for 3.97/3.99 (I forget which). They rang the coupons through at $4. She acknowledged that it was a great deal.
I've also used P&G coupons for Secret or Olay Body wash without them batting an eye.
I never get cash in hand, however, I always plan to use it against another part of my purchase or in most cases, to help with the taxes

yes, I used this new policy at the Northside WM on friday... the cashier didn't like it (she was grumpy), and tried to argue with me - until I showed her the printed policy - she read it, re-read it (realized that she was beat)... called the CSM over, she read it, and said - "that can't be right.. but if thats what it says, thats what it says!"
My total before coupons and tax was $49 - my total oop after coupons & taxes was less than $10!!
I had the $2 Nivea coupons, and the $1 nivea cream. I also PM'd Zellers for the beneful dog food, and used the $1.25 coupons and got it for free!

Good for you!!
Grumpy cashiers in Fredericton....never encountered that!! LOL!! I think they are ALL grumpy myself.
"That can't be right".....I like this one! I would have loved to be there to see her face when you showed her the policy. I don't think I would have enough guts myself to take out the policy from my purse show it to them! Good for you.

So muffin113 that means that the cashiers and CSM in Fredericton have not been trained to use the new policy yet.

apparantly not.. lol... my hubby was with me - and he couldn't believe that I stood up and gave her the policy! He said - well, she'll know for next time now!
Not sure about the Regent St WM - I don't shop there often as I work downtown, and it's easier (and faster) to get to the North Side @ lunchtime/after work!

Went shopping at Walmart on Prospect at lunchtime today. My cashier was very professional and gave me not one bit of problem.
Here are the coupons I used:
1 x FPC Schweppes 2L= FREE
1 x $2 Go Coupon Nivea and yes she put in the full $2. I was buying the travel size at $1. (I am not sure she noticed it was less than the coupon however)= +$1
8 x 75 cents on Fancy Feast Hors d'oeuvres= $2
4 x $1 on Green Giant Steam Veggies (and yes they were $1 each)= FREE
So if you do not count the taxes, I paid $1 for all this!
I also bought the kids Easter treats at the same time so my total was over $20.Last edited by Bargain Seeker; Thu, Apr 14th, 2011 at 12:10 PM.
