Anyone else out there tired of hearing about the royal wedding? does anyone really care? why does it get so much play on the news?
(yes, i am aware of the irony of posting about the topic adds to the pollution being churned out by canadian news outlets)This thread is currently associated with: N/A

well we're still tied with the British commonwealth so it does somewhat effect us not alot but they are still part of canadian culture.. (afterall flip over a quarter and who do you see?) i'm somewhat curious to watch.. simply because i love hearing about all that stuff
i do understand why the wedding is getting soo much media, this is diana's oldest son, the future king of england, a wedding 8yrs in the making (they've been together 8 yrs!) it's supose to be the biggest wedding since charles and diana, HE is a usually very reserved figure (who from what i hear would rather have a very simple wedding but can't since who he is) he is about as public of a figure as they get.. and add to that all those people who just love weddingsWhen life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

I'm not, with all the horrible news I've seen on the TV lately this is just something nice and cheery to look forward to.
Too much doom and gloom.

I think some of us are of the age that as little girls we watched Charles and Diana get married and it was one of the most awesome and amazing things we'd seen in our tender young lives and so there's a bit of nastalgia there too.

aaaa and pac182, I'm with you.
I am not really interested in this wedding.
I too see it in the magazines at the check out lanes, hear about it on the radio and can't escape it on tv.
Is it April 29 already? (Ooops, how did I know the wedding was on April 28
.)

Well, I'm not really interested in the people getting married, or the actual wedding...more like the components.
I like watching the wedding shows, like Rich Bride, Poor Bride and Say Yes to the Dress. So I'm enjoying the little specials they keep airing, showing options for the dress, food, flowers, etc.
But yeah, I am a little over it...

At least Royals are not as sexist as before it said on the news if Prince William and Kate's first child is a girl she will become queen even if she has a younger brother.

I am not into the wedding or the royals or any kind of overhyped media output at all.
I read the other day that the bride's ring is the one that Charles gave Diana. The ring from an unhappy marriage and tragic life. Really? I would have said,"I love you but not the ring".
