I apologize if this is off topic but I have been asking around with no good answers, so I figured perhaps if I broadened my demographic someone here may have a few answers for me. I am wondering if anyone here knows of a good dentist/doctor personally or through a friend that treats TMJ. I have been have bad symptoms the last few days and was thinking of getting some kind of mouth guard or physio but I don't know much about what is out there for it and I don't want to get taken to the bank, lol, if you know what I mean. Anything would help. Thanks so much

Dr. Major is a TMJ specialist & he has another specialist working in his office named dr.Tse. I have been using massage for my jaw/neck & have had excellent results. I used to get throbbing in my jaw that would refer to my inner ear & a few weeks of massage & it's been gone for 4 months. Hope this helps!

I have recommendation who you shouldn't go to...
Pettigrew is his last name --he has commercials on the shaw listings channel. I went to him and he's just an insurance sucking gold digger if you ask me. He didn't help me near as much as a massage therapist did and when my insurance coverage was up he was done with me.
This is just my experience... You asked for opinions so please forgive me if I've offended anyone. I had a severe car accident 10yrs ago and hit the airbag so I have some major jaw issues and Pettigrew didn't fix it but he sure drained my coverage fast. ;(
Just my opinion ...

Don't worry, I appreciate all info, whether good or bad thank you. This is the best place for information as there are so many people here with many different experiences which is fabulous. Sometimes we have to step outside our social circle for advice since at times the knowledge I am looking for is just too limited...

I have a really good chiropractor...you could call and ask if she can help with TMJ...I think she does. Aurora Ongaro, 7804420030. I was in a car accident 10 yrs ago...suffered with bad migraines for 8 yrs after that...went to several chiros and didn't heal...until I saw Aurora. I had forgotten what life was like without pain. She is awesome and I wish I had found her years ago. I won't ever go anywhere else. Good luck, Christine. You CAN be pain-free! xoxo

Another vote for chiropractors. Try Dr. Jason Sabo.

I also go to a Chiro for my TMJ.
