I am getting Braver lol Recycling Walk

Ok we live in the land of yuppies and I do say they scare me sometimes So I thought I can do this with my daughter and dog beside me. Off we went I just did the glance thing if anyone was lurking I didn't glance at all!! But I did come home with 1 Stouffers Pin(already tried it it works!!!) and 6 icoke pins!!!! So very proud of myself because I do not generally not like people and get all anxious!

Did my first recycle walk today.

We have lots of bottle scavengers in my neighbourhood so I decided I would claim the paper bins...After dropping my daughter off at school and grabbing myself a Timmy's I donned a disguise (my sunglasses, lol) and slipped on a pair of latex gloves and headed out. Low and behold the first box I scavenged had about 24 beer bottles under a pizza box that the bottle snatchers must have missed. So I loaded up, came home dropped them off and grabbed a new bag. I went only half way down my street and back and ended up with 9 redplums, 3 money savers, one cereal box with free all-bran and two licks boxes with B1G1 burger coupons.

At first I felt a little embarrased when cars drove by but I figured if I don't make eye contact they can't see me either, lol!

I asked my dbf if he still loved me now that I was a garbage picker and of course the sweetie said yes and asked me to keep my eyes open for left-handed hockey sticks....I FOUND EIGHT!!!!! ha ha ha, he must have seen them on his way out this morn...but still...they ARE left handed so I grabbed the bundle and now my patio resembles something of a horders....ha ha ha...

Haha I live in the land of yuppies too! I told the hubby that I was going to take my littlest on a walk in the neighborhood on recycle bin day and he said "can you go a block over" lol.

I live in a very uppity area in T.O first our recycle bins are up to my armpits so the one time I went behind my building to look of course I found an insert but in a empty bin there I was head first with my feet up in the air trying to balance on my stomach on the rim of the bin grasping at the insert (finally I had to go get a broom as I wasnt gonna tip it and crawl in) God if someone saw me haha ... so recycle walks in my area are a no go as we dont have little boxes but big tall bins and my dbf also was embarrassed and said i can do it just not in our area haha im headed to my moms tomorrow night in hamilton where they have the little boxes i will be doing the walk thurs night fri early morn hoping to get my hands on the redplums as a insert theif is in my area didnt buy the newspapers but took all the inserts went to 9 stores not a single insert talk about po'd lol

Yay! I do the same, just casually do a quick glance. It's great when walking my dog because she likes to sniff a lot so it looks like I'm just waiting for her while I am really taking a peak
